Don't know if you guys have been to the "Around the Region" page for the west, but the Oxy v. Cal Lu game is  one of the 10 "games to watch" in the region per Mr. Johnson:

http://www.d3football.com/atr.php?region=west

Redlands just isn't getting much love here in the pre-season . . . that ginormous recruiting class well stocked with JC and DI transfers seems to be flying under the radar . . . or is it something else?   8)

Guess we'll find out starting in a week . . .

Redlands will be playing with a major chip on their shoulders this year. The last time a SCIAC team was playing for their third straight SCIAC title was 1996. That team was La Verne and that feat was denied by Redlands in OT at La Verne on the last game of the year. It was a very nice way to end my playing days at Redlands. I have a very good feeling that there will be Deja Vu this year.

So RFB....Are you saying there will be no three- peat?  Have you heard anything from camp?

RFB

DGD,

I have no connections for information at Redlands. I played for Coach Maynard and I do know people there, but I am sure they are a little busy right now as I am. Keep the info coming though as you hear stuff and I will need a breakdown of the scrimmage(Private Message). No need to give any scouting reports to the opposition. I hope your daughter is excited about Redlands, it was the best four years of my life.

RFB.......I will do that for you.....I can say that there are some position battles going on and that is good for the team.  I will PM you with any info I get.

GO DAWGS......GO DEEP!

Has there been in conference perdictions in past posts?  Since I've just started to get used to the conference I'm trying to soak up as much information as possible.  Plus I'm mad it has taken me four years in So. Cal. to realize there is DIII ball near me but thrilled I'm now taking advatage of it.  DIII is great football & other sport action.  Looking forward to checking out the OXY games this season & El Tiger (I think it was) I'll take you up on some pregame beers on the games I make!

Hey dc,

The predictions that have been made so far is that its really a three way battle for supremacy in the SCIAC once again in '06.  Oxy has won back to back titles and is the favorite.  With 2 time SCIAC offensive player of the year, Andy Collins returning, and almost the entire starting defense back, Oxy is the favorite.  A big key for Oxy success is if the young O line can gel in time, filling four starting spots left vacant by graduated Sr.'s. Not far behind Oxy is Redlands and Cal Lu, Redlands desires to "return to dominance" and Cal Lu has been one game away from taking the SCIAC crown.  Unfortunately for them, that one game is when they play Oxy. They have had less than stellar performances in those contests losing 41-9 last year and 24-7 the year before.  So look to those three teams to battle it out for the '06 championship.
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy

I was in the Glendale courthouse one day about 6-7 years ago.  My client was a younger guy who told me he was going to take me for the best taco's I ever had.  We went to a lunch truck.  I was very leary...he told me they were THE BEST!   I had the runs for 3 days.    I dont know if it was Leo's or not but I have never had anything from a lunch truck since, nor will I ever again. : :-[

I've been away and am catching up.

Dawgs,
Up until this post, I had thought that negative karma was the worst  thing that had happened to you. :D

So RFB, If I'm reading you correctly it sounds like an undefeated Redlands team will fall to an undefeated Cal Lu team at the Runner on Nov. 11? ;)

D O.C.

At this time I would like to take the opportunity to thank the OXY Tigers for getting LINFIELD a mention in the Los Angeles times.

QuoteThe San Diego Chargers Radio Network is made up of ten (10) stations blanketing all of Southern California and Las Vegas. Josh Lewin calls the play-by-play, former Chargers player and coach Hank Bauer handles color commentary, and Jim Laslavic covers sideline reporting.

...and speaking of LINFIELD, is that the Hank Bauer from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA, that ruined LINFIELD in a playoff game many moon ago?

Dens-

It's the very same Hank Bauer...

RFB-

I am looking forward to that game as well!
