Diehard:

Don't be too hard on yourself . . . you were right to start with:

Have you all noticed that both of Redlands' opponents in weeks one and two moved into the DIII top 25 in week two?  Not only Whitworth to no. 25 (which has been previously noted), but Trinity to no. 24 as well?  Nothing like trial by fire to get the season started.

If the Bulldogs can get through weeks one and two unscathed, they should be well poised for a Pool C bid assuming they get past Cal Lu for second spot in the SCIAC . . .  ;D

good luck to the pups . . . gee, that didn't hurt as much as the first one . . .

then why don't more marines own bulldogs??? it's like... the RULES!  >:(

maybe they don't own them because they're ugly... I'll leave other people to decide whether that's also true of the Redlands players.  ;D ;)

For some reason, I picture all SoCal football players to look like Sunshine from "Remember the Titans"...  ::)

Seems like Redlands better figure it out, and figure it out soon. In '04, Oxy went into the first game with two starting quarterbacks, Andy Collins and Justin Elway.  The coaches never made a decision, and they switched the QB's almost every drive.  Well, we never established any rhythm and lost the game to Chapman! Redlands is playing a good team in Whitworth, so hopefully they figure out this QB controversy and have all the players and coaches stand behind and support the starter.  Anyways, GO OXY!!! Title defense begins in just a couple of days, and I cant wait.
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy

If Redlands beats both, Oxy will be in major trouble come October 7th. Whitworth and Trinity aren't JV programs like CC/L&C.

dawgs go deep

Man, I smell those cookies from here.  Get them off the board, its not fair.

Tooth, I agree,( talk about painful) that the team needs to get behind one qb.  Alternating games or series is ineffective.  I hope it will all get straightened out before its too late.  I think the problem is, as I pointed out earlier,  both have their pluses and minuses which is usually the case in a position battle, but both lack,IMO, A PRESENCE, on the field.  Now, thats just based on what I saw at the scrimmage and it may be off base.

You see, its comments like that that make me want to see Whitworth and Trinity "monkeystomp" the bullpuppies (with apologies to the Linfield community for borrowing their terminology) . . . SCIAC reputation notwithstanding . . . try to be nice to an abused dog and it will just turn on you and bite you . . .  ;) :D

Eat 'em up Tigers . . . Go Cal Lu, earn that Pool C bid.   ;D

Selway sounds like Nick Brown.  IMO, neither Brown nor Saras were/are as strong as many of the Redlands QBs who preceeded them.

Two big games for the SCIAC against the NWC.  A Redlands win over Whitworth and a Cal Lu victory over PLU would do a lot to strengthen the SCIAC's rep.

Hey what about Oxy's win over Lewis and Clark, its gotta count for something?  ;) Thats for RFB who loves to comment on our weak preseason schedule...

Truth hurts I guess. Maybe Oxy can schedule Biola or La Sierra when their contracts end. Oh wait, Biola and La Sierra don't field football programs. But if they did, I am sure Oxy would find a way to schedule them.

scandihoovian

Does anyone know the status of the L&C/Oxy contract?  In other words, are they scheduled to continue playing beyond this season?

SmittyBoy

DGD is off saying that Redlands had an off game against Cal Lu..Cal Lu shut down what they did best which was run the ball..Being someone who was involved in the program last year i can tell you that Redlands was not as good as made out to be...Oxy was made out to be good lived up to it and then some..

D O.C.

diehardfan...you DO know what your posts look like when you have a picture of a Devil Pup and then those cookies down below, don't you?  I'll be careful where I trod.

RFB, remember Redlands is going to be facing the (now) best quarterback in the NWC Saturday. No controversy there. I think back to that game two years ago with all the offense. I'm excited for a first game of the year.
