I will eat some crow and amend my stay home comment, it was taken in the wrong context. That type of loss would have killed me. I am not sure if Oxy was just overwhelmed with Linfield, underprepared, overprepared? I just don't know. I would think that they would have been able to put up a better showing because the overall result seems like what happens to teams that are underprepared at the beginning of the season, not peaking as they should at the end.

Come on tooth---Pull for The staggs. Keep hope alive. Wewant the sciac to do well don't we.

El T ---It's only friday. Watch out for those beers man. Oxy plays L/c tomorrow. Not Colorado. That's until next week. Careful with the drinking young lad... ;D

Alright RFB, appreciate the comments . . . in the case of Linfield . . . and this is based on conversations, not first hand observation . . . I don't think the pre-season had an impact so much as the fact that the 'Cats fielded a much bigger and faster team . . . plain and simple.

I'll leave it to the boys who played in those games to confirm, deny or otherwise clarify.

cheers,

I'd love to see the Stags pull a win . . . but it was prognostication, not cheerleading!   ;D

I'm a SCIAC fan . . . but not delusional . . . at least until my meds run out. :D

dawgs go deep

Last comment on the subject of Oxy's preseason schedule.

Who cares....win league and it doesnt matter.

Lets face it the entire season breaks down to how Oxy, CLU and Redlands do against each other.  Good luck to all............more to the dawgs.

GO DAWGS......ROUT THE RATS!

Eye of da TIGER

Tooth, you are correct.

They were bigger, faster, and stronger. There were a few mistakes/questionable calls early on in the game.  An offensive PI call ended a promising drive, (Bad call, I was there ;D), Oxy D missed falling on a fumble in Linfield territory, and they called an Andy Collins touchdown dive, a fumble.  All 3 in the first half, all 3 resulted in no points for Oxy, and next thing you know we were down like 21-0.  When playing against the #1 team in the country you cant have mistakes like this, because as you can see Linfield took advantage of it.  And RFB that is how we found ourselves on the wrong end of a lopsided score!!
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy

WOw Newbie--(DGD) for the first time i will have to agree with you on this one. Win the conference games and then see what's up. In addition, i will also vote with you on killing the topic... Have fun at The lunar landscape and ruble this saturday

So Rockcat . . . you headed east to take in the big Redlands v. Whitworth matchup?  If so, I'm looking forward to your insightful observations . . .  ;D

Me . . . I'll be enjoying the Oxy v. Lewis & Clark pairing and a much shorter drive.

cheers,

I still might, but the wife might have me on the leash this weekend. ::)  Redlands is a hacking long drive too.  Not really interested in seeing the Pios though.  Quite a dilemma wouldn't you say?

A little late to come along saying that isn't it? :D

I can't complain though.  She supports my baseball addiction which is much bigger than my football addiction.

My heart goes out to you . . .  ;)

I figure if nothing else you'll have the computer tuned to the Linfield v. WOU net cast . . . let's see, drive to Redlands and back or enjoy a couple of frosty ones in the comfort of your own home w/ the 'Cats on the net and the TV tuned to Texas v. Ohio State . . .

I think that a short leash may be just what the doctor ordered!

Lol... I was sorta referring to a broader, more theoretical perspective, but okay.  :P

I once had a guy friend tell me that on his first date with a girl, he takes her to a ballpark and goes to the bathroom and some point for the sole purpose of handing her the scorecard and asking her to fill it out. If he comes back and she's done it correctly, there will be a second date, if not, it's a hasty "see ya!" I thought that was funny, because at the time, I knew a whole bunch about the game of baseball, totally would love going to games... but was only an adequate scorecard filler outer.

It's important to have high standards.  :D :D :D

Redlands is not a bad drive. 45 minutes from LA with no traffic. Even closer if you live in OC. From Thousand Oaks it can be a drive no doubt.

Sabretooth Tiger

Yes, but "no traffic" is generally only between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.. every other Tuesday. ;D
