The link works just fine when I click on it. Here, try this one:

Of course, I have DSL. You might want to spring for hi-speed Internet and get rid of the two tin cans and really long string you're using now. Downloads take seconds rather than years. Anyway, it's just as well you can't hear the wav because I'd probably have to explain it to you.

This is the type of nonsense I refer to. What positive information are you offering the group? NOTHING! This only satisfies your ego as you sit in your room hiding behind your monitor in total anonymity.

Nice numbers for Collins. He is a special QB. I hope he does well this year except against Redlands.

DF1,

Just ignore OxyBob. He is solely here to stir up sh*t.

Willamette was blown out of the first 2 games,,hard to say if they played 2 good teams or if they are really that bad??anybody have info on 2 teams they played??

The Bearcats have played Western Oregon and Gustavus Adolphus.

WOU is a DII school.  Willamette lost 42-0.  WOU beat Linfield this past weekend.  It sounds like WOU is stronger than it has been in a while.

The Gusties are members of the MIAC who look to finish in the middle of the pack of that conference which includes top teams like St. John's (ranked 4th in DIII)  and Concordia Moorhead (ranked 23rd).  The Bearcats lost 35-7 at home to the Gusties.  I don't think that points to a very strong Willamette team.

Thus, it should be a good game, but I'd expect that Cal Lu will prevail.  If not, they'll have a tough row to hoe to get into the national top 25 (and they appear to be on the rise in vote getting).

Good luck Kingsmen.

Thanks RFB. As I am new to this forum, I am learning who the contributors are and who to write-off as troublemakers.

Welll?  A couple of you boys have been busy slinging stuff back and forth.  As an outsider (but big Oxy fan) hope that is settled now.

On to football.  Tooth,  Redlands by 3 over Trinity?   Not to upset our Dog fans but after last weekend and reading the post game analysis provided by Watchman you still stand by that?  If Watch and DGD are correct about the OC and offensive line don't see how a traditional power like Trinity could be upset.  Hope they are for UR sake but don't see it happening.  Trinity by 14.

Intriguing post from CC about their program.  Watched them play Oxy last year at home and similar to the last weekends game.  I'll pick Oxy but only by 21, assuming CC is stronger this year.

What about Puget Sound and what does that hold for La Verne and Whittier.  UPS is a mid level power in the NWC school isn't it.  Could it be a long season for the Poets and La Verne?

Finally, what do you dogs make of Maynards statement about going against prevailing locker room opinion for his starting QB,  ploy to build up confidence in his choice or does it point to strong dissension in the ranks?

RFB

Last time I checked this is Coach Maynard's 19th year as head coach at Redlands. I will trust his judgement in who starts at QB.

CRZK

RFB;

True, True.  I am not doubting his judgement, especially not having a chance to really watch Redlands and have to rely on you guys for your observations.

My comment is simply an observation.  Thought it "unusual"  for a head coach to make a statement like that--unless I am missing something.  Don't you find a comment like that something unusual?

RFB

I completely agree with his choice. Saras has the most snaps under center and is more experienced. Is he the better quarterback? I don't really know since I have never seen Selway play the position. I will agree with Watchmen that Selway is a hell of an athlete and probably would help the team most at wide receiver. If Wabby is the quarterback of the future and I hope he is then move him to #2 and let's get the offense clicking.

As regards the Redland's QB issue, it appears Saras and Selway looked even during the practice sessions even though Saras was the returning starter. It is easy to look good at practice. However, in a game, reality is quite different. Maynard indicated he went with Saras because of experience. This was very evident Saturday night. As I recall, last year Saras came to Redlands as a transfer from UC Davis, where he was recruited from high school. He seemed to be very effective last year for the Bulldogs.

Dawg fan, I agree that there is an immense difference between looking good practice and in a game.  I was confused on Saturday when Selway came into the game.  In the newspaper article that was posted on this board where Maynard named Saras as the starter, ther was no mention about using both.  IMO,  Maynard was trying to keep all camps happy.

Watchman is correct in his evaluation of the two, Saras is more experienced and while I thought he made several bad decisions, his decision making was better than Selways.

You also make a good point about number two.....that would be the logical thing to do.  That is really the best way to get #2 ready for next year. He would get the value of practicing with the first team to some degree and gain some valuable playing time also.

Trinity will be a very difficult game for the Dawgs....I hope they get it together between now and then.

RFB: Very good suggestion regarding Selway and Wabby. However, who has seen Wabby play? Nothing negative towards DGD who appears to be friends with the family and has been very supportive of him, but as we all know, there is a significant difference between high school and college ball. All the accolades and high school awards don't make it happen in the first season at college. There is a definite learing curve to go through.

However, if he or someone "other than Selway" could be the QB of the future, put them in the lineup as #2 and move Selway to WR like last year. If Selway will be the guy next year, he can still rotate in the WR spot and be a QB backup. Either way, if Selway is as good as some believe, use him as a receiver to do what is best for the offense.

Anybody have any insight on Chapman. I know they are not in the SCIAC, but nobody from there posts on the Independent board. I thought maybe some of you might have an opinion. I am going to see them against Menlo on Saturday. Thanks.
