GO DEEP DAWGS

DGD---I'll chose Whittier  over Carthage  by 6. I have a feeling that the poets will pack a game plan and turn their "D" into freaks. Hey i know i'll hear crap. But, i think i proved one poster wrong last week when they had no faith in the staggs.

Since Oxy is playing CC this week and we all know that they will claw their way past them, I am deciding to rely on you guys or anyone of that matter, on saturdays score. A big division  rivalry between my Dodgers is coming to town. I couldn't be any more excited to recieve behind homeplate tickets for free. So if any one can, keep the board updated please.

this made me laugh, so even though it's late, I had to reply....

"we're all men here, right? at least i'm assuming.."

yeah, no,not really no :p

I'm a bit puzzled by Willamette's slow start, and I'm wondering if there are any NWC folks out there that are not too distraught by Linfield's loss to offer some insight on the Bearcats struggles?

Scandi,

May I suggest that you post this question on the NWC board as you may have a greater chance of getting a substantive response.

cheers

Thanks, Tooth.

I guess I was hoping to catch one of our friends like Dens or CAWCDAD.

I'll go forth and cast in Northern waters...

Oh, and Tooth, from what you said about your roots I guess somewhere along the way there was a mixed marriage?   :D :D

I haven't been up there in almost a year but all I'm hearing is that Willamette just doesn't have the talent right now.  Those good Willamette teams of past years always had good athletes who could pull off that student fly offense.  It also looks like they've got a pretty young team.  Regardless, they run a gimmick offense.  I've always thought a well coached team should be able to prevent the Bearkitties from breaking a bunch of big runs which they rely on.

This isn't much help but just a few thoughts.

Im surprised that you guys didnt get a kick.......out of the article on pne punter stabbing another!  Sounds like something that would happen at Claremont! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I didn't respond sooner because I was, oh my gosh, working like mad. :o Sorry I can't help you much. As rock cat said, I think they are young and do not quite have the skill players they have had in the past. I will see them in a week against Menlo.

Hey whats up everyone? Just joined, glad to be here. So my take on this weekends games:
-Trinity over Redlands, just dont think the Bulldogs are ready yet. They are going to need a spark to get it going.
-Pomona over L&C because well it's L&C but who knows.
-Carthage over Whittier, Whittier looked like they were turning things around last year but a loss to Puget Sound looks like Whittier of old.
-Whitworth over La Verne, La Verne has talent but nothing that Whitworth hasnt seen or handled before
-Oxy over Colorado College, the history and the travel for Colorado are two things going for Oxy, oh yea they happened to have a QB by the name of Collins.
-Cal Lu over Willamette, saw Willamette last season and not impressed. Kingsman know how to defend the fly, Squires and Aranda will have the D well prepared.

Well more on picks.

First of all the Linfield/HS game is certainly the game of the week.   However I'll go out on a limb.  Linfield loses close, does well the rest of the season but loses to Whitworth for the NWC championship.  How's that for creating controversy!

Cal LU:  Looks good over a weak Willamette, stumbles big at Oxy and stays home again with 1 loss season

La Verne gets beat by at least 14

Now for the big one.  First of all through my sources I have a copy of Coach Maynards pregame speech tommorrow.  Here it is

Unfortunately it doesn't help and Redlands goes home with a 14 point loss.

Finally, best of luck to all SCIAC schools tomorrow.  Despite my predictions I would like to see a clean sweep.

That was hilarious. Is that coach still alive? He is definitely a heart attack waiting to happen. Thanks for posting.

Whitworth is going to have to pull one oversized monkey off their backs if they are going to beat Linfield for the NWC championship.  The Cats holds a slight series edge at 26-3-2 and I'm sure everyone in Spokane realizes that.
