>>>Enough of seriousness in adult life?  that is hardly determined by age. However, the manner in which you decided to kid was, well, on the level of a kid.<<<

That's exactly what I thought when I when I was 22, just out of school and knew everything.

CRZK

Pumpkin:  When I was 22 and knew everything?  Does that mean at your "advanced age"  ;D  you have gained or lost knowledge since?

Just kidding! 'Cause I need to know which way I am heading!!

Actually, I found the clip link on the NWC page and couldn't resist.  Kudo's to our UR fans who took it exactly as meant.  Ahh football coaches who take a page from George Patton!

tmerton;  man you did a google search?  I was just lucky to be able to copy and paste the link.  Oh btw--as a solid red state resident you are scaring me with your newsweek cover!  Of course I have to wonder about the wisdom of allowing video taping in a locker room.  Talk about asking for trouble.

DGD what is the story on the QB you guys are going to face.  The 3rd string guy or Cameron?  (think that is guy who was suspended) or the guy with the concussion?

Last comment to a poster and comments about spelling.  Let's see  "99.9 % are more like"  and "Grinell"?  hmmh--glass houses?

Now on to drinking a "Busch" beer and see what the weekend holds.

Cheers

CRZK -

The TGP has to admit that although I knew everything at 22, I know now nothing....at least that's what my wife keeps telling me anyway.

Not to knock the West Region, but the only true comp year in and year out is the UW's and Linfield.

I'd say year in and year out, St. John's is pretty decent. As a matter of fact, they opened the season with two wins against WIAC teams, the consensus pick as d3's toughest conference.
National Semifinalist:
2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1976, 1965, 1963

Post-Season Appearances (36-15 Record):
2005, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1987, 1985, 1982, 1977, 1976, 1969, 1965, 1963

Look at  the playoff records of the conferences: after the OAC, the NWC and MIAC have the best two marks in d3 and both have won d3 titles in the past few years. Just getting beat by Mount Union does not make a team good.

In 2005, the NCAC lost to Capital, which lost the next week.
In 2004, it was Carthage (Carthage????), which lost the next week
In 2003, the NCAC exited vs. Montclair St. -- who are these teams? -- which lost the next week.

dawgs go deep

CRZK....As Pat informed me, the first string qb played in the first two game but in the second, he was ko'sd with a concussion.  The second string guy was the one suspended so the thtird string guy took over.  As to this week, I think the first string guy is on a day to day basis.

And...how could you take that clip any other way but as a joke...unless of course.......you were refering to the Claremont porgram! :D ;)  ::) ::) ::) As to the spelling thing.....some people have nothing better to do with their time and their lives but to find fault with others.  I try to avoid those types of people.

Pumpkin, pal...you hit the perverbial nail on the perverbial head...with a 20 pound sledge hammer! :D

GO DAWGS...GO DEEP

Oh and ECS - what happened to your classof2006@cmc.edu email address??

"Swingin Stag" eh?  Good one.

Actually the "Stags" is a great mascot name for a college football team.  Unfortunately were I went to school back east all the teams we played (ourselves included) had mascots that were created in the early 19th century and mostly had to do with members of the 1st Continential Congress and/or the American Revolution.

Overall the SCIAC has some decent monikers:

Kingsmen (kind of east coast, but the "Kings" reference gives it a little more umph)
Stags - already covered
Tigers - They'rrrrrrrrrrrrreee GREAT!
Leopards - is there a "cat theme" going on here?
Sagehens - WTF is a Sagehen?  Is that like the Delaware Blue Hens?
Bulldogs - can't go wrong with this one.
Poets - uhh, yeah - forget what i was saying earlier.....

TGP..... could Stags be a typo for.....never mind  ;)

How about the ducks and .....Beavers???? Now thats what I want to be called! :D :D :D :D :D

No thanks DGD - although it always cracked me up when I've been at USC-OSU games at the Coliseum and my buddy (in perfect time with the USC band) drunkenly shouts the "Beat the Beaverzzzz" chant.

I'll also never forget the time I took my wife to the movies and these 2 kids sat directly in front of us with their South Carolina and Oregon State hats on backwards (I am guessing everyone knows the mascots by now).

At the time I couldn't decide whether these kids were either a) really clever or b) really obnoxious.  In retrospect I realized it was probably somewhere in between.

Funny stuff about the hats TGP.  :D

My all time favorite mascot is the d3 UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.  :P
