Quote from: Sabretooth Tiger on September 22, 2006, 04:56:45 PMOK, I get it . . . but I'll tell you, there is an advantage to being a So Cal native.  You can always tell the natives from the transplants and visitors in an earthquake.  Locals remain calm and start guessing the strength of the quake, while non-natives scurry like cockroaches when the light goes on, panic and soil themselves.   ;D
Great description of transplants tooth, so true. We Northern Californians get the earthquakes and the weather to boot. Watched a high school game once that we all had to guess what was happening as the fog was so thick. I was coaching water polo and had to stop a game because of the waves in pool from a quake. Aren't athletics great!! ;D

I must put Tigers-Cobbers as the best DIII game I ever saw.  I [attempted to] broadcast the game with the One-Armed Scott.  Adam, being from the area, was pretty convinced that the Cobbers would roll.  Then Oxy started rolling out the speed on the turf.  Truly a great game.  Too bad I couldn't get the broadcast to work.  (Can you tell that I'm bitter?!)   Anyway, here is a clip of that one -- link

I would also put the Oxy-UOR game in '01 up there.  Don't recall the score, but it was a huge game for the Tigers after having a doormat for a good stretch in the late 90's.

I tried to reply to your message you sent me Sept,15,2006 but it said I was not allowed to send personal messages.I don,t know why I can,t send personal messages. I can only think post patterns did or does not like my past postings! Williamette Played as best they could in T.O.Cal. but the CLU Kingsmen played a tough second half and was  too much for the Bearcats.Vilnis Ezrins Stootsky went home with his mommy to Canyon Country for this bye week but she promised to make sure he gets back on campus Vilnis gets confused easily even though he's a <> B<> student in the classrooms!!Stootsky got new front teeth last week and the lad is looking good.

Stoonk,

Newbies can't sent PMs (banner at top of page).
You'll need to use one of your other names.

To the SCIAC and some NWC Posters:

I have written this post at least 6 or 7 times and then deleted it.  I have received several emails from some very kind and well meaning people asking me why did I delete my account.  My response was that I embarrassed my son, and that was the last thing I ever wanted to do.

I sincerely regret the impression I portrayed in what some of the posters called "promoting your son".  I honestly never meant to do that.  I know I became defensive, like any loving father would, and in doing so, gave the board the impression that I had an agenda.  I didnt and I dont.

I highly respect the UR coaching staff and any decisions they make realtive to my son.  I realize that my son's accomplishments speak for themselves and dont need to be repeated on this board.

I am extremely embarrassed by the poster poll and have never found myself in a situation like this before.  I know now I didnt handle the situation correctly and for that I apologize.  I only hope this will end the personal attacks directed at me and especially my son by some, lets say, not so kind people on the board.

I asked Pat if I could delete my account and if I could start over and he agreed and, for that I thank him.  I was going to come on the board and just be another poster.  After thinking it through, I though it would only cause more problems, thus this most sincere apology.

I am still not sure if I will make any further posts but, if I do, I wil never bring up the subject of my son again.  So dawg gone it ...I'm sorry.

Wow, dawg gone it, that took some guts.
It's not easy to come on a board like this and admit your mistakes, and I give you credit for doing so.

Welcome back to Post Patterns. I'm glad that you decided to return.

No worries at all. That took some b*lls to come here and admit your mistakes. Make sure you stick around and contribute to the board.
