About Selway and concussions I agree with ending his season, especially if he has had several over the past several years.

They are nothing to mess around with.  In fact I have been told that too many concussions lead one to being argumentative, quick to anger, mood changes, and heated discussions.

What a minute.  I am talking about Oxy Bob and East Coast Stag!!

Sorry I meant to address concussions   ;D ;D

SnowLeopard

Concussions ended the careers of the past 3 La Verne quaterbacks prematurely. (Rollie Dykstra, Jason Winn, Brian Guerrero) Dykstra actually suffered severe head trauma and was in a coma for sometime. He still has not fully recovered from last update I have heard.
Hail to the Orange, Hail to the Green,
Hail to the Leos, FIGHT ULV!!!

Crzk,
So what you are saying is that concussions are like PMS? and/or menopause?

I only ever had 4-5 as a player with several years inbetween each one. Save my last year of playing. Back to back weeks.

Nothing to mess around with. Best recover before everything else. Lest the sufferer continue to play and end up with the riveting personality of Troy Aikman.

Nice piece in today's L.A. Times Sports section on Trinity (NESCAC) football.  It's a good piece on DIII ball and Oxy receives a favorable mention.

go tigers, stomp the stags

CLU  35   Halftime
ULV   6

Wow, talk about a monkey stomping in progress.

EastCoastStag

And Trinity got their sh*t shoved in today. THANK GOD.
Sorry. I have a serious dislike (to say the least) for the NESCAC. The institutions are good, they are NO ivy league as they believe themselves to be. And in many cases, I believe the schools to be overrated. Also, it is an abomination that their teams are not allowed to play out of the conference in football.

CLU LaVerene? And people thought this would be close? Come on now folks.

Tom Brady

55-12 Cal Lu.  This game was over after the first 7 minutes.  La Verne drove straight down the field but threw a pick right around the goal line......3 plays and an 87 yard bomb and the Kingsmen were off and running.  La Verne moved the ball at times, but could not stop Cal Lu.  This was a "monkey stomp" all day long.

EastCoastStag: And Trinity always says such nice things about you!

CRZK

Well getting close to showtime.

Called PP vs Poets pretty much right.

Got burned on my upset call.  Looks like Cal Lu took care of business big time.

Looked at the Linfield results.  Willimatte had the game tied 14-14 at the half, scored twice in the 1st Qtr but Linfield came back big in the 2nd half.  It will be interesting to watch the rest of their season up there in the NWC.

Wish I could listen to both UR and Oxy but going with Oxy of course.

SnowLeopard

Hats off to  Cal Lu, They came to play. I just got off work, and couldn't believe the score when I saw it. La Verne's D really needs help. Offense couldn't get much going either, It looked like Handy still isn't fully recovered from his stats in the box score. Last year the game was tied 7-7 at the half, two years ago 21-7? La Verne. CLU really stepping it up....

I think La Verne will be OK.  The QB from Cal Lu was under a lot of pressure most of the day but spun out of a lot of tackles and made some damn good plays.

Anyone know why the OXY broadcast isnt working?

The schedule on the Oxy site shows no broadcast of this game.  Since Oxy usually has them, I think Pat has it listed on the scoreboard page.

Tom Brady

It doesnt look like their on tonight.  Oh well, I guess I will have to watch the UCLA game...

CRZK

Bummer on the oxy broadcast.  Check out Kansas at Nebraska.  KU down 25-32 with 1:30 and KU moving the ball!!

Another Redlands turnover!!
