As for the Oxy Cal Lu game, where is it this year? I live in West BumF*ck California and would prefer not having to drive all the way across LA County to watch the battle.

It's at Cal Lu on Oct. 28 at 1:00 p.m.

Oxy 17

The bulldogs are going to come right out and punch Oxy in the mouth!!!!  A defensive score,  a big play on special teams will bring the victory to Redlands!

My best Oxy memory:  Walking out to the field in 2002 and Oxy were running their mouths, but they had earned it because they beat us the year before.....beating them in double overtime was awesome!  But I had never been so excited for a game in warm-ups as when we played Oxy!!!  Much respect to Oxy, but its Wednesday night now.....game faces are on, and its time to mix it up!

WE ARE THE  BULLDOGS RECOGNIZE US!!!!!

Redlandsfan.....I called caoch Maynard and he wants you in the locker room before the game to give a pep talk........ ;)

You got me fired up...I just opened another cold Corona.  Will you be at the game?

DAWGS.....BEAT OXY...dawg gone it!!!!!

Do NOT go back to the old unis, Cal Lu.  We announcers like to actually see the numbers.

Looks like some good hype in advance of the game.  If you can't make it, we'll be there.  www.oxybroadcast.com

Actually, tigersports, I think those uniforms (the old CLU road unis had vegas gold numbers on white jerseys) were part of a secret plan to disappear under the "bright lights" at Oxy (similar to the effect created by the black Oxy jerseys during the PaoPao era - man it was tough to find the ball...).  Due to last year's CLU-Oxy result the plan was deemed a failure and the uniforms were redesigned  :D

Too bad the white jerseys still have the vegas gold numbers.  Obviously the school doesnt care enough about the new logos and colors to buy new uniforms.  Instead they still have them mixed and matched.
I myself love the new helmets but think the gold stripes on the arms look TERRIBLE.  Stick to a plain purple and white uniform and leave out the yellow.

Now that OXY has some athletes, have they stopped watering down the field during Redlands week?

And Oxy has FieldTurf upon which the Bulldogs played last year.

To all that will be attending the Oxy-UOR game at the Runner, have fun and enjoy the the big game ;D.

Unfortunately, i will have to take My carne asada to Chavez Ravine and root for my Dodgers, as they have their backs against the wall. Something that i know all Redlans fans can relate with. :'(

Hopefully, the young pups have been studying for the tigers. I can assure you that the masterminds (Oxy's staff) have been aware and getting the kids ready for the 2nd step to the SCIAC Crown.

The game will turn out to be like a chess match for 2 quarters. However, Slowly all will realize how "the Return to confusion" shows up during the game for redlands offense. Redlands defense will not be able to hold on long for their offense to click (as they will spend so much time on the field)

As Redlands fan---- pointed out in his post though, All "will recognize" how Redlands crashed and returned to confusion.    (Oxy 48- Redlands 24)

There is an old Led Zepplin song called "Dazed and Confused". Let's hope this is the song the Tigers are singing on the long bus ride back to Eagle Rock Saturday night.

Pretty quiet for the day before some games.  Does this mean people are actually working????

Eye of da TIGER

1 day away from a huge game! Its kinda sad to say, but if Redlands does in fact lose tomorrow, which most feel is inevitable, their season is over.  Which is a tough fact, considering the season just began. When was the last time Redlands started a season 0-4?  They lose tomorrow, its likely they'll lose to Cal Who and will even probably drop one to the Poets or Whittier in the weeks to come.  All I hope for is an entertaining game! The way Redlands is turning the ball over this year, maybe we'll have another 4 consecutive turnovers in 4 consecutive plays like we had in the Oxy/Redlands game in '04.  For those of you that werent there, such as my amigo Dawg gone it, its was unreal.  See you guys at the tailgate nice and early tomorrow.  ;D
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy

OK, so the 'Dawgs lost their first two against highly ranked tough opponents . . . the loss to Chapman could be viewed along the same lines as last year's loss to Cal Lu . . . an abberant let down . . . as a fan who believes in karma and the dangers of hubris, I'm gonna give the 'Dawgs the benefit of the doubt and predict a really hard fought game at Runner, where the Dawgs will never lie down.  At 0-3 and facing their first SCIAC game, the Redlands team will be incredibly dangerous and will come into the game knowing that everything is on the line . . . playoff spot . . . respect . . . Oxy cannot . . . and will not . . . take anything for granted.

Truly hard fought game . . . but Oxy prevails . . . I humble myself and beseech the football gods for an outstanding Tiger performance . . .

I just had to share this

From the San Gabriel Valley News:

Occidental College has been to the NCAA Division III playoffs two consecutive seasons because of one reason: it dominates the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  After It takes Care of Redlands and Cal Lu, It will be three in a row.
