45 minutes (5 North to 118 West turns into the 23 South, exit at Olsen Road)

Is it better to take the 118 than the Ventura Frwy?  I have commitments in Pasadena that go until about 12:30 and figured that the drive out the Ventura would be problematic.  Would love to see an effective option to motivate me to make the drive . . . . :D

tooth,

I make the drive form the Burbank airport all the time, its a crap shoot, mileage wise the 134-101 route is shorter milege wise and quicker if no traffic. From Pasadena, if no traffic, the same is true.  If there is traffic, the 210 route is better.  Saturday afternoon should not be too bad on the 101.   Then take the 101 to the 23 to Olsen and turn left.

Thanks for the info. I am making the trip alone this week.
Tooth if you make it to the game I would like to meet, I enjoy
your posts. I met OB at the Redlands game, hopefully he could
introduce.

It's true - 101 is shorter - but the 118 is as close to a no traffic guarantee as you can get, & CLU is on the North end of TO which gets you a little closer to the 118 & 23... as always you're rolling the dice.

And, hey, it's not called the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for nothing, if we can't have a 15 minute discussion about which freeway to take we're not trying hard enough  ;) ;D

and Bob, who's Collins? ;)

If CLU beats Oxy and UR that would leave Redlands with 2 losses (OXY and CLU).

I asked about this a few weeks ago but don't recall getting an answer. In the event
Redlands wins the last three and Oxy losses one game, possibly to CLU, this will leave
UR and Oxy with one loss each. Will this result in a league tie or will Oxy get the Title because they beat Redlands?

They will be tied for the title.  I don't know how they would choose the playoff team.

Gray Fox;

Thanks for the answer. I realize there is much football left to be played but I was curious about this possible outcome.

GO CLU!!!

The only way for the SCIAC to host a first rounder is for Oxy to win out.  If Oxy takes a loss, it'll drop in the rankings behind Whitworth and Linfield and it, or the SCIAC rep (if the world collapses) will have to travel north for round 1 (my best guess).

So go Tigers . . . big game at Cal Lu . . . eat'em up!

I will be traveling north to the game, but won't arrive until after kickoff.

I think the west region seedings are far more likely to follow the playoff criteria than the D3football.com Top 25.

So the first regional seedings are due this week right?  Don't you expect that if Oxy wins out, it will be ranked 3rd in the region behind  UWW and St. Johns?  And wouldn't you expect Whitworth and possibly Linfield (among others) to leapfrog Oxy if the Tigers takes a loss?  Or are there other criteria to which you refer?

BTW, I've read the FAQs on the playoffs and figured that, consistent with the past two years, that the first round would include an NWC and SCIAC pairing based on travel costs, and that the pairing would likely be the SCIAC champ v. the NWC # 2 if the NWC gets two seeds, and # 1 if the NWC only gets one team in.  Again, nothing to do with seedings, but rather travel costs, as demonstrated last year in pairing then ranked no. 1 Linfield against then ranked no. 4 in the region Oxy (if I'm remembering correctly).

Central has a sizeable lead on Oxy in the Quality of Wins index. Any Oxy loss would have to be evaluated by who they lose to, since that affects the QOW.
