El Tigre

Hey everyone ...
It has been a while since I have posted.  This whole real world thing is harder than it looks.  I sure wish I could go back to last April when Eye, Oswald, and I were sitting in out rooms wondering what we were going to do that night.  Boy I miss the good'ol days.  Well I am sorry to say that I missed the Cal Lu game and I wish I had gone.  From what I hear it was an amazing game from both sides of the field.  The little piece on ABC 7 last night was good.  Got Oxy's name out and showed off the school a little bit.  I don't know if anyone caught it, but when Dal Widolff was talking the caption read "Gary Wifolff!"  I sure hope Dale didn't lie to us over the last 4 ears!!!  Well about the game this Saturday it is down in my area.  We will be going to Ohara's Irish Pub, which is a stones throw from the stadium.  Hope to see some people there and good luck to all the teams this Saturday!!!

I posted this on the NWC Board, but it's worth sharing here as well for those who don't roam. This is an excellent article in SI about Rutger's Brian Leonard:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/the_bonus/11/02/rutgers.leonard/index.html

It is a great read about a player that sounds like a great kid.  Relevant excerpt in light of the discussion that took place on the NWC board earlier this week related to showboating.  This excerpt refers to Leonard's mentoring of Rutger's young tailback sensation:

In Rutgers' opener at North Carolina, Leonard and Rice were huddling on the bench, going over a defensive front. ABC sent a camera over, someone on the sideline yelled, "Say it the camera, Ray" and fast as Rice's head popped up, Leonard had yanked it back down.

"No," Leonard told Rice. "You don't need to be saying, 'Hi Mom' right now.

"At New Rochelle High, Rice would end touchdowns with dances. Now, he finishes by handing the ball to the ref.

"I think people notice it more when you're the guy who does that, like Larry Fitzgerald," Leonard said. "Guys talking and dancing, it looks dumb. It makes your team look bad and you bad."

Go Oxy, pound da Panthers

Congratulations to Mr. collins for being named A.O.W.

I am sure that all three A.O.w's will support their teammates and end up destroying the panthers. Go tigers.

To all that are heading to the O.C. for the game, have fun and be sure to report the tigers return to getting better. In addition, get ready for next week at the rock. Any of you guys showing up next week.

Looks like we will not be meeting up with the Cats from Linfield during the playoffs this year >:(

I'm guessing a trip to Spokane for round 1 . . . though it would sure be nice if the NCAA decided to ship St. Norbert's out here for a home opener!  I guess there's always the possibility of us getting tossed in w/ Texas.

Time will tell

Everyone was predicting the stags to win by atleast 2 td's on my Leopards,
but ULV pulled it out 21-14... I just wish for once they could get up for a big game and compete with the likes of CLU and Oxy again...
Hail to the Orange, Hail to the Green,
Hail to the Leos, FIGHT ULV!!!

Oxy 31------ chapman 7 and its still the 1st half. Glad to hear that the tigers are focused and systematically getting better. Big plays by the darkside. THe offense is doing a well job as well

Oxy up 34-7 at the end of the third w/ the Tigers driving.  I'm guessing that this is the last series for Collins, especially if the Tigers score.
