id rather be practicing for a playoff game than eating turkey, but ill take what i can get.

I hear what you are  saying.  My freshman son pointed out to me that this Thanksgiving weekend is the first time, since he was seven, that he didnt have a game on Thanksgiving weekend.  I knew somthing was missing this weekend.  Just have to look at it as motivation for next year!!!

>>When is the last time a SCIAC team won 4 straight titles?<<

Redlands won 6 straight conference titles under Frank Serrao from 1973-1978.

More recently...

Oxy has won 3 straight SCIAC titles from 2004-2006 under Dale Widolff.
La Verne won 3 straight SCIAC titles from 1993-1995 under Rex Huigens.
Redlands won 3 straight SCIAC titles from 1990-1992, and won back-to-back titles 3 times between 1996 and 2003, under Mike Maynard.
Oxy won 3 straight titles from 1983-1985 under Dale Widolff.

If I missed something, I'm sure someone will correct me.

OxyBob

You missed nothing of which I'm aware . . . and just let me say "thank you" for reminding me that I played on Oxy teams that were among those that fell to Redlands during Serrao's six straight conference title streak . . .

I think you need more waterboarding or cattleprodding . . . .

hope you're all enjoying your holiday weekends . . .

There was another (almost) three-peat in the 80s. The Tigers were co-champs in '87 and won it outright in '88 and '89. From 83-89, the Tigers won or shared all but one SCIAC title.

Thanks to stoonk and scandi for the info on the football pics.  Any clue as to why finishlinephoto wasn't at the Cal Lu v. Oxy game??
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Not meaning to attack any individual person but would anyone like to comment on why the SCIAC is one of the slowest conferences in the nation year-in and year-out releasing information (schedules, results, awards, etc)? I can't be the only one noticing the lack of SCIAC releases on this site and the sciac "website" itself.

In Dallas, it is rare to get even the day game scores in the paper on Sunday.

It hurts the league, not having an all-conference team out now. I'm looking for people who might have not been nominated for our all-region team but if there's no all-conference team to look at, I'm not going to be able to check the SCIAC.

Are you saying an all conference team has not been picked or that the results have not been officially released?  Redlands released a list of players who made first and second team so the team has been picked.

Pat, I am sure one of the coaches has the results and would share them with you.

CRZK

This is typical of the SCIAC for all-conference results.  As Pat said it hurts the players.

I also know that the teams and coaches know who has received what but I don't expect Pat and the other decision makers to be calling each coach in the conference to get results.

That said, the SCIAC has a lot going for it but this area borders on the unexecusable.  The teams know, the kids know but the rest of D3 football doesn't know.  Hopefully an AD or head coach should be rattling some cages at the SCIAC.

Tiger Shark

I will be the first to admit that Oxy is probably the worst team in the nation at releasing articles, awards etc. Most teams in the SCIAC have already released their All League selections and yet Oxy's won't be out till Christmas.

CRZK

Dear oxymoronic  ;D

I like your new moniker!

Actually, I did e-mail the sciac director using the e-mail address off of the SCIAC website after posting my comment.

That was almost 3hrs ago.  By the way it was a reasonable post just asking when they would make the conference announcements.

Hey, that would make a good poll.  How long does it take for SCIAC to respond to a question.  Less than one business day,  less than 2 business days,  Less than 7 business days, or never??

Sabretooth Tiger

I forwarded Pat's post to the SCIAC email address this morning around 5:30 a.m..  No response as of yet.
