RFB,

Whats your opinion and take on hiring an assistant who coached T.E.s and some WR's to suddenly lead the helm as the new O.C. at U.OR.?
Does this mean that UOR will be using the same Offense ( system)? Will he be making a new system or using Coach maynards old system? IMO, it Sounds like he'll be using the old system but is now in charge of figuring out when a certain play itself gets to be called in.??????
Not to sure how a former Defensive stud with limited offense of experince can take over at the O.C. position. I just hope that U.O.R  is not  Returning to Confusion and huge mistakes that it made on Offense this year, or the end results will sure be sad.

I have a feeling the Dawgs will be airing it out, old school style. Jeff Thomas is a very capable coach, he came to Redlands as a QB. Also, Coach Maynard knows what he is doing. He knows the offense was stagnant last year and that a major overhaul is in need.

"Those limits have not been crippling, in part because of the work of Squires and his staff, in part because of other things CLU has to offer — and in part because none of CLU's conference rivals have football facilities that give them an overwhelming recruiting edge."

Ted Runner Stadium vs. Mt Clef Stadium= No Contest

D O.C.

That Redlands turf is very, very nice. The home stands are good enough. The visiting stands are fine.
The crowd control that showed up last season (OK, some ribbons limiting how close you could get to the playing surface) was not appreciated. (At least I do not recall it being there in my past visits)
The rest room facilities are fine on both sides for the average game crowd.

California Lutheran is as California casual as I could ask for. Last time I was there=No Entry Fee!
The visitor stands are rinky dink so ask OxyBob how he liked the sun in his eyes for I was free to roam anywhere I chose and I did.  I sat down on some grass in the shade and began talking to folks around me, lo! and behold!, it was Mrs. Squires and her kids. Very casual.

I'm not choosing...I'm just saying.

RFB-

Agreed - Ted Runner is the nicest stadium facility in the SCIAC without question.  I always enjoy going there because there's no doubt you're going to have a good angle on the game, etc. etc.  I am not a former player so I can't compare locker facilities - but I have a hard time imagining that CLU's current home setup (I know the visitors facilities are still lacking) are not at least on par with the other schools in the conference save Redlands.

I, of course, have my own biases - and I love Mt. Clef stadium as a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon in the fall.  From the home side you have the sun at your back and a great vista - the Chapel and hills in the background.  Like DOC and Bob I enjoy the free roaming privileges, especially the fact that you can stand right on the goal line and watch some of the most critical plays in the game from less than 20 feet away.

Eventually the new stadium will be built across the street, and I'm sure it will be nice - but as a long time CLU fan I'm also sure I'll miss Mt. Clef Stadium as well.

May I assume that you are Robert S. (Bobby) Mooshagian, son of former CSU-Sacramento head coach Steve Mooshagian?

I offered several suggestions on the Transfer Message board that you started.  I hope you can find a home in D3.  :)

DogPower,

With a name like that you might be a better fit at Redlands. :P  CLU teams are Kingsmen.  Redlands are the Bulldogs.  Good luck wherever you go.

+1 Gray Fox!  Bobby ought to go to Mount Union.

If he really was the best receiver at Sac State, then he has a chance to get some PT for MUC.

DogPower,

Have him check out Linfield.  2004 National Champs with a heavy pass offense.  Outstanding college, great gameday atmosphere, and an elite DIII program.

You can find all sorts of recent Linfield game action here at: Catdomealumni.com

Good luck!

I agree linfield is a great program. mt union is def a great program, their record over the past 10 years speaks for itself. wherever he goes the program will be lucky to have him. he is a great kid to say the least with great hands.

It is important to know that SCIAC schools require all sentences to start with a capital letter.

Also, until SCIAC schools schedule and beat them, LINFIELD should always be written in all capitals. ;)
