Did the esteemed OxyBob and Sabertooth Tiger peruse the LINFIELD athletics website enough to see this old news?

Aren't we all just kissin' cousins now?   :-*

I have clearly failed in efforts to stay abreast of developments by not digging sufficiently into Linfield's website . . .  ;)

And while we're talking Linfield and Oxy football, let me add my voice to the congrats on Brett Elliot's fine outing in Europe . . . maybe next year we'll see another Elliot/Collins matchup?

Anyone heard any scuttlebutt on Collins performances at pro days?  I'm too cheap to pay to join the websites that provide detail.

cheers,

Don't be so modest, Sabretooth Tiger, you previously made mention of the Aztec Bowl...

OxyBob

You are absolutely right . . . I merely intended to point out my failure to peruse Cat Nation's website, thereby recognizing my own failings and weakness as a member of the left coast DIII football community . . .  ;D

You'll note that I refrained from making lurid comments in regard to "kissing cousins" and "handshakes" . . . just too fertile a field to even know where to begin . . .

plus, I have actual work that I have to get done before my drive to Spokane, WA for a wedding this weekend . . . maybe I'll run into 509 in the bar at the Davenport.

And while I'm wasting time before getting back to work, how about a "shout out" and plus karma to Pat Coleman for the front page of D3 Football . . .

When do you think we have ever before, or ever again, seen consecutive articles about Linfield and Oxy players making advances into professional football careers . . .

you gotta love it, thanks Pat

left coast DIII is alive and well.

ST,

Andy had his pro day out at the Home Depot Center a couple weeks ago along with the Hawaii prospects. Hawaii had some big boys and overall I think Andy had a good pro day, but it could have been better. He tested well in the weight room, but he could have ran a lot faster in the 40. The good news is he threw really well considering the heavy wind.

FYI, the Leos have narrowed it down to three (again). A lot of the coaches from the first time around aren't inteviewing.

Redlands is getting a very good football player from the Bay Area - Mike Nicolini - RB, WR, DB.  He was Back of the Year in the Marin County Athletic Conference and was rated one of the top 10 defensive backs in the Bay Area by the SF Chronicle.

This week the UR Bulldog football team and staff are heading to New Orleans to again assist in the ongoing Katrina relief program.  The coaching staff and players are to be commended on their efforts.  The entire Bulldog family should be proud of them.

They return to begin spring practice.  Good Luck to all involved.

Glad to hear that the dawgs are getting a good recruit in Nicolini. However, don't bust your chops yet dawg nation; because there is no "I" team. Hope the entire dawg team gets ready for another chance at trying to climb to the top.

Man this is started to burn me... Can we make up our minds and hire somebody...
Ragsdale and committee get your stuff together, hire Rice or whoever else in the running or name Brownie or Presto interim coach, because how the heck can recruit anyone if we don't have a coach!!!
Not a having a decent class of kids this year is gonna set us back for years to come, and we don't have much to work with after graduating practically everyone in 06 and 07.
Hail to the Orange, Hail to the Green,
Hail to the Leos, FIGHT ULV!!!

I hope that UL can resolve the problem soon.  The more competitive the SCIAC  is the more fun the games are.  I think that recruiting may be the least of their problems, hopefully they won't have players walking out on them.

Brett Elliot's playing for the Rhein Fire should also really hurt Linfields recruiting year...... ::)

Any of you UR posters playing in the UR golf tourney in May?

Does anyone have any info on who the Bulldogs play in week 2 yet?  It seems like it's getting very late to find someone.  I hope they dont end up with a back to back bye.

Biff0123

Rumor has it that it will be the Haskell Indian Naitons Football Team. I believe an independent NAIA team http://www.haskell.edu/athletics/football.asp

snoop dawg

Theres one I havn't heard of yet........I didnt see anything on their website that confirmed they were playing UR.  Who the heck are those guys anyway???  If they do play them, are they a patsy or will they be a tough game?

Thanks for the info Biff.
