I've heard that Ankeny doesn't want the players to cuss. That's tough for a La Verne guy to do. I would have only lasted about 5 minutes before the first F bomb came out

Yea about 5mins sounds right

Ever take into consideration the fact that O – coordinator was applying for the job at UWW when this all came about?

Are you referring to CLU's offensive coordinator?

I am as well, BE.  It's an interesting move by the ULV admin to bring in a guy who has a background quite different from the ULV program culture I recall from the mid-90's which seemed to pattern itself a bit after the U of Miami - right down to the helmet logo...

I wish Ankeny success in his efforts at LaVerne.

Finally.  ;D We have coach. Welcome Andrew Ankeny.

I talked to a buddy in LV and he said the big hold up was caused by school hiring a new provost. When the provost arrived he requested the commitee to restart the hiring process all over again. What a pain.  >:(

I hope Ankeny is in for long hall and leads ULV to greatness. It'll be tough to run a tight ship in La Verne, but it sounds like a step in the right direction and I wish him the best of luck.

As far as Danny Jones goes, I cant blame the kid for leaving after hearing his situation...  Just another solid football player from the bay area ;) Good luck in Cheeseland Jones.

P.S. Go Warriors! We Believe.
Hail to the Orange, Hail to the Green,
Hail to the Leos, FIGHT ULV!!!

I think its huge if your putting a 110% and getting 75% back.......Seems like simple logic to me to go to a team where that 110% is returned.

There's no reason to throw the CLU players under the bus to justify the move (it's a bit strange how you say they had camaraderie "bar none above and beyond" over the past 3 years but now all of a sudden lack dedication).  It seems pretty clear that Danny simply found a situation he likes better.

as per your WIAC post, (HAR!) not to brag,   but LINFIELD appears to have four (4) quarterbacks to handle the offense.

I was never throwing anyone under the bus....Just like I said before I was putting things in prespective. Simply saying that It did not seem like a selfish move to me what so ever.  I love CLU and I think the players are outstanding and like I said before the whole team was kinda left high and dry with out a coach. which put nothing but ? ??? marks hanging above the players. That alone could have an effect on the camaraderie of the team. Yes and I say lack of dedication when you only have a handful of guys showing up for spring ball.
Me being a coach that would really upset me and like FIGHT ULV said before i would drop the F bomb real qucik. Anyways seems to me like we are beating a dead......how does that saying go? tmerton.....or is it horse? ;D  ;) ;D ;) I cant wait to watch CLU play this year the competition is going to be great........

Go....Warriors.... ;D

I can understand why any good d3 football player would want to play for Whitewater, I just couldnt see how DJ  got connected to them.  If in fact the CLU OC applied for the job that answers alot of questions.  Did he get the job?  Maybe he turned DJ onto UW as incentive to give him the job?  What I mean is maybe he said I can bring DJ with me if I'm hired.   Now before anyone says Im making accusations, Im not........ just LOGICALLY  thinking out loud. ;)

Why did Pierre Garcon transfer from Norwich to Mount Union? Why does any good player transfer to a top program?

This is a very interesting twist, I must say.  But with UWW's success in recent years, I suspect that the quality of the applicant pool for the OC job is very good. This program has a reputation for stability when it comes to the coaching staff.  HC Brez 22years, HC Forest Perkins 20+ years before that, OC Zweifel 16 years, DC Borland 13 years, etc....  I can't see them wasting this opportunity and hiring an OC that is not the top candidate just to get a QB for one year.  Especially since the QB's we have are not too shabby!  If he did apply and gets hired, I believe it will be because he is the best choice.  If he did apply and doesn't get hired, we would be happy to have Jones anyway.  ;) :D ;D

I guess I was trying to say that the CLU coach who applied for the UWW job must have been the link for DJ to UWW.  Good Luck to him, I hope he finds what he wants.

ps    If the QB's UWW has are not to shabby, he must have been guaranteed the spot, I mean why would he take a chance of going there and not be the starter?

Your view of the world has been distorted by your overexposure to the Southern California high school scene that is dominated by the so called "booster clubs".  These are nothing more than self-serving parents, players and coaches that will cheat and recruit in order to move the "program" forward to bring glory to themselves rather than educating their children.

In Division 3, things are more pure.  It is most likely that DJ initiated all of this by himself because of financial reasons.  He could start at most schools.  Why not go to a winner?

The sooner you understand this the better.
