Plus it appears ULV isn't aware what time it is playing Redlands.

I'll beat 3dawgs to the punch and mention that the Whittier schedule is from 2006.

I realized that and modified my original message 27 seconds before you posted your correction. Nice try, though.

That's what I get for taking the time to outdo snoopy. :-[

GF..............I noticed the mistake immediatley....however, I refused to comment on a meaningless, "steaming load of twaddle".

I have too much time on my hands at the moment, so I shamelessly made my comment. :)

I haven't heard anything.  I think that the staff like to play it close to the vest, waiting to see who actually shows up to camp.

It's my understanding that a growing number of incoming frosh (this is a generic statement, not directed at football players or athletes in particular) are paying deposits and saying "yes" to multiple schools in order to keep their options open, so the truth will out in about a month and a half.

In the meantime, I'll let you know if I hear anything solid.

OK, so it's a slow Sunday afternoon . . . how about a little Oxy and Pomona football trivia and the impact of these programs on the University of Arizona . . .

From the UA website:  http://www.uagrad.org/Clubs/SAA/index2.html#heritage

In 1914, a Los Angeles Times writer covering the Arizona-Occidental football game at Occidental, wrote, "The Arizona men showed the fight of wildcats." After reading the story back in Tucson, the student body supported a move to call all Arizona athletic teams the "Wildcats" instead of "Varsity."

The "Big A" was built by UA students between November 13, 1915, and March 4, 1916, to commemorate Arizona's 7-3 upset football victory over Pomona, California, that October. Freshmen whitewash the "A" each fall.

The impact and reach of the Oxy and Pomona communities never fail to amaze. An "upset" victory by Arizona over Pomona?  You gotta love it!!  And Oxy together with the LA Times triggering the naming of the school's teams.  UFB!   ;) 8)

The U of A school colors were originally sage green and silver.

Would it be fair to say that without the hand Oxy had in naming their mascot that they may very well have been called sagehens. ;D

RFB....Keep it up and your karma will look like mine!  However, I love your attempt to get the board going.

Street & Smith once again has them waaaaay overrated.   And for that, I'm sure I will soon break the century mark.

This is going to be an interesting season!  How can anybody have a legit idea about how the conference is going to shake up?  Redlands has been down are they gonna bounce back?  CalLu lost the starting QB for the past three years... OXY lost one of, if not, the best QB the conference has ever seen... ULV has a new coach, the first one in 12 years and the fourth since The Korean War.  I am PUMPED!

P.S.

I guess some will have a more legitimate opinion than others.
Hail to the Orange!!!

Carlo.....I agree and think it will be a wide open race.  I do think that UR and Oxy will be the two front runners.  I think that CLU might have been the slight favorite if they didn't lose DJ.

Oxy has 14 returning starters, according to Stret & Smith, and that is a big advantage.  I think UR has even more because the entire defense but one player is returning and the new additions are impressive.  If the offense can move the ball, score 3 or more td's per game and most importantly avoid the numerous turnovers they had last year, they will be tough to beat.  I think the defense will be one of the best in the d3.  I think all the games will be competitive and extremely fun to watch.  Just my opinion.

I've actually ventured out of the West Region board once in a while and have seen Occidental fans themselves say S&S overrated them.

If you break the minus-100 mark it will be because of your smart-ass tone, not the content of your post.
