Even if we had, how does that preclude one voter from having his own opinion and giving Cal Lutheran two points?

I know this is the first time you've had to worry about Redlands and Top 25 votes, but man, not everything has to be a big issue. Just be happy your team won a game.

Don't tell them, and I can get my cut.  Or if they insist, get a Bulldoggie bag for me. :D

Great job to the Dawgs!  First road win in the Northwest in a long time.  As for Oxy, good job beating a team that the Bulldogs had trouble with last time they were up there in Portland.  As far as the rankings go, it has to be very hard at the D3 level because not everyone can see every team play.  Look at the D1 rankings, Michigan was number 5 until they played one quarter.  Until, the Dawgs or someone else beats Qxy they should be ranked ahead  of any SCIAC team.  Without Collins they should be back to 500 by the end of the year.

The way Oxy's punters and kickers have performed lately, maybe it was used in hangtime on the kicks. ;D

Congrats on the good wins this weekend.  Don't worry about the polls, the're just a beauty contest.  The only poll that matters is the score board.

I wasnt worried, just trying to stimulate some discussion. ::)

Awesome job by all the teams in the SCIAC. Good thing none of our teams got beat 63-0  ;D

Here's the weekend wrap-up for the Oaks-v.s. Sciac regular opponent Chapman:

The Chapman University football team jumped out to a 21-0 lead and held on for a 24-7 victory over Menlo College at Wilson Field on Saturday night.
Both offenses sputtered at the start of the game as each team exchanged short drives and punted back-and-forth. That ended when Chapman junior Dominick Gaitan batted and intercepted a pass by freshman quarterback Tony Rehn at the Oaks' 16-yard line. On Chapman's first play of the ensuing drive, senior quarterback Luke Robinson connected with junior Chris Shynn on a 16-yard touchdown pass and the first score of the game with 2:24 remaining in the first quarter.

Chapman's next touchdown featured an eight-play, 69-yard drive that ended with senior Ian Galanis punching it into the endzone with a 1-yard touchdown run at 9:54 in the second quarter. The big play of the drive came seconds earlier on a 43-yard completion from Robinson to senior Harrison Dull, who was forced out of bounds at the 1 yard line.

The Oaks opened the third quarter with their only touchdown of the game on their first drive of the second half. Sophomore Eddie DeLeon ran from 1 yard out to close in on the Chapman lead 21-7.

The Panthers rallied on their next possession to get three points back on a 29-yard field goal from senior Brandon Koller to end the game's scoring.

Rehn finished 9-of-16 for 55 yards passing.

A win at Conner field by the tigers this weekend will mark a big victory. I don't know when was the last time Oxy won up there, but it sure is a big goal that the entire team will learn from the coaching staff this week. The last time the tigers were up there (in 2000) Nate jackson and Zamir Amani both were on the same field with a high power offense. However, as of late, it looks like the Oaks have been struggling big. I sure do hope that the tigers don't even consider Menlo's 0-2 record as a reseason to overlook them. Go Tigers

There were also some items about Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne. Of note, Pomona's freshman starting QB Jacob Caron was 11-for-22 with two interceptions, and also rushed for 81 net yards in the Sagehens' loss to Colorado College.

It's good to see that the coach has recruited a good QB during his time away. :P

Good luck Hens.

My feeling is that Menlo is going to do very well in the NWC this year, so Oxy should look out this week.

The team that everyone should be aware of is Chapman.  They fly under the radar.  Next week they are at PLU, and then have a full slate of SCIAC opponents.  Redlands will be their first SCIAC team, so the Dogs should not be overconfident.

Chapman looked really good on Sat. Offense was clicking and defense was flying to the ball.

Looks like Coach Owens has them going in the right direction.

The team everyone must not overlook, is Whittier.  ;D
