I just realized that SD and I have faced off, not on the gridiron, but on the field of litigation.  It has been a while since I had a case with SD, but I've been on the defense side for more too many years than I care to remember.  Best of luck to the Tigers and Bulldogs in a competitive good game this weekend and hoping the Tigers get the W.

Someone forward this to the SCIAC presidents so we can get a tenth game.  By far my favorite coaching rant, the perfect amount of condescending sarcasm mixed with passion.

Quoteguess the only other question is whether or not OB hitched a ride to T.O. on the team bus, or did he arrive in his own bus?

Tooth-

What year was it?  I was probably in the group of young hoodlums playing football (between plays of the actual game) with a bunch of wadded up Coke cups next to the Oxy bench.  You may have been up against redbulldog, the board's new original Kingsman.

The return was on a sunny afternoon at CLC . . . it was either '76 or '77, can't recall which right now.

Yes Scandi, I was on the field against "Tooth" that sunny afternoon at CLC not CLU(thank you), being on offense, it wasn't me who tackled him during his moment of fame, too bad.  Thank god the fellas playing now are a whole lot better than we were, eh Tooth? It will be a great SCIAC weekend. Play hard and be injury free to all.

From ATN: Here's some non-Hansen accurate reporting.  ;)

Games to watch:
No. 25 Redlands (3-0, 0-0) at Occidental (3-0, 1-0): It's only fitting that such a full slate of big games won't wrap up until late at night. Redlands kicks off its conference schedule against defending champion Occidental at 10 p.m. ET. It's too early to tell whether other teams will challenge for the SCIAC title, but a win should vault the victor higher in the Top 25. Most voters probably don't have both the Bulldogs and the Tigers on their ballot so a win for one could steal most votes from the other.

Subject: Information about Colorado Blvd if you are planning on attending Saturday's game vs Redlands

Colorado Boulevard between Eagle Rock Boulevard on the west and Argus Drive on the east will be closed from 3 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 6 to 1 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7 for the Eagle Rock Music Festival. Be sure to take this into account as you travel on Saturday, particularly if you have plans to attend Oxy's first home football game of the season against Redlands (at 7 p.m.). More details on the festival can be found at http://www.myspace.com/eaglerockmusicfestival .
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Good Games this week. Oxy / UR will be huge. Although, I do not think the SCIAC champ will be undefeated in league play this year. Just a a hunch.
As for other games. Mount Union / Ohio Northern. HUGE. Wish I could watch that one.

UCLA and Notre Dame will be playing at the Rose Bowl at 5:00.  I think it is a sellout.  Consider that in your evening's plans and travel in the area.

A sellout? There are that many UCLA fans attending? I mean really, this year, who wants to see Notre Dame play? A HS game on Friday night would be more entertaining.... Then again, sometimes we love the slaughter - most people want to see Tiger Woods win in a blowout . I'm just surprised that anyone would want to sit in worse than normal LA area traffic to then watch ND get worked all over the field?

Ah but seriously, something to take into consideration. I remember getting stuck on the 210 last year on my way to the CMS / Oxy game. That was frustrating.

Leave early, tailgate more.

In other news:
CMS over Chapman by, lets say 7-10.

In case you guys aren't up to date on the basketball board.

This is just a quick heads-up to let you know that
Quantum Hoops will be playing for at least one week at
the Laemmle "One Colorado" theater in Pasadena
starting on November 2-8.

There will be another reminder email as the date draws
near but if you could pass this info on to anybody who
might be interested we would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your continued support!

The UCLA game will have no impact on traffic since it starts at 5 and most cars will be in the Bowl by 4-4.30.  Even post-game it won't be much of a problem because there isn't much traffic on the freeways after Bruin games, just getting to the freeways is tough.

I believe Mitch and crew are doing radio only, which means if you're not there and not in the IE, you're stuck listening to us cackle on at www.oxybroadcast.com.

Thanks to all who listened last week.  We had a robust audience, especially for a Stag game.

One man's pick:  Oxy 23, UOR 20.  Should be our biggest game of the year.
