And I might remind you that CalWho still had scholarship holdovers from the NAIA days on that 1991 team, so you're not exactly making an even comparison.

Cal Lu may have been good for a few years in the early years...but we rolled them everytime we played em!  Bulldogs 35-14 over Cal Lu....but we have to get through some other teams first!

ftp- either just west of the stadium in the dirt parking lot or just south of the stadium in the regular parking lot. Proud if #63's parents came up and said Hi, Redbulldog

You must have a very limited cerebral capicity to make a prediction of 35-14 when the game is some 2 weeks away.Did somebody spoon feed you this enlightnment?Perhaps you should quit your present job and become self employed predicting football scores and make millions of dollars!

I thinks it's interesting that Whittier plays a big role in the final two weeks of the season.  Two straight opportunities for the Poets to show that they have, indeed, taken a step forward this year as a program.

Here's my two favorite facts regarding the history of the CLU-Redlands rivalry:

1) For anyone who wants to argue about various historical eras, the bottom line is that CLU leads the all time series  (Thanks in part to the efforts of RBD  ;) - the Seventies were good for the Kingsmen)

2) Over the last three years, which are the only ones that involve current players, CLU is 2-1 against Redlands

and dawgs57 - I think it might be time to stop trotting out the scholarship holdover argument.  The players recruited while CLU was DII were seniors on that team, and they were freshmen when I was a senior (the last year anybody got offered athletic $$$).  My fairly educated guess is that there were less than five players on that team that ever received any athletic scholarship money to attend CLU - and none of them got anything close to a full ride.  Seems like maybe it should be enough for the Redlands* alums of your era to be satisfied with what was, otherwise, a pretty good decade for you against the Kingsmen.

*I am paralyzed over potential apostrophe misuse, should this be "Redlands' alums" - as in people who belong to the Redlands community? Or is Redlands merely an adjective in this sentence?  Bob, I await your official ruling...  ;);D

Hi,  I'm the new kid and CLU Fan.

I would like to remind RFB that Cal lutheran has played spoiler for redlands in the past.  In 1991 the kingsmen beat the bulldogs at lovely mt. clef stadium, last game of the season, knocking them out of the play off's.

right now it's time to focus on pomona.

Go Kingsmen!!!

PS.  Despite the dropped balls by the tiger wrs It was anybodys game on sat. until oxy fumbled that punt on the fifteen yard line.  To me that was the nail in the coffin.

Where is the late great Herb Caen's apostrophe posse when you need it?

The Chronicle hasn't been the same since ... not that it was great before - but Herb was its heart and soul.

Stoonk,

I am just going by tradation, and my belief that Redlands will roll Cal Lu.  Like I said, when I played Cal Lu they were a joke...I know they have had good years, but its a rivarly game.  When the last coach was there the program played with very little class, and it made it fun to always beat them.

Point #1-CLU has always played with class. Coach Squires was a quality coach and a quality guy.

BTW- I didn't find out until after I was out of there that they paid scholorships to the football players, and I was one, ouch! :o
(of course tuition was $1,500.00 per year back then, ...don't be laughing now)

Point #2- Whittier beat Redlands last year with most of the same players back this year. I hope the Bulldogs don't forget that.
