Bob-

I thought Oxy liked the old pair of shoes they already have, and I hope they hang on to them for at least another year! ;D

I'd think you'd be grateful for the Star's complete faith in Oxy's ability to pounce on the Poets...

Tom Brady

Yikes, after reading some of this talk about CLU in the 70's I am starting to get worried that some of you might be my dad ;)

OB-  If that article was written by David Lassen, wel, you already know my opinion on that guy.

Wait, I just checked it out and it was by another guy that is just about as bad as Lassen.

DawgHeaven

Hypothetically speaking, when the Bulldogs beat Cal Lu next weekend, could there be a repeat of that game the next weekend?
Things that would have to happen:
Redlands returns the favor and "steals" the second playoff spot from Oxy, but I really think they will get beat by an inspired Whittier team.
Whitworth beats Linffield and gets sent to UWW.
Having two teams from the same conference play in the first round is not unheard of, but sending the NWC winner on a plane is.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think that any consideration other than saving money will factor into "who" plays whom in the playoffs.  If two SCIAC and one NWC team make it, they'll fly the NWC team to the Midwest (or vice versa) and have the two SCIAC teams play each other.  There is no way they'll fly two teams if they can make it so that only one flies.  The only time they even remotely recognize seeding is if the teams can bus to play each other and all the NCAA is stuck with is a bus trip and 80 bucks a night at the Fargo Ramada.

...80 bucks a night at the Fargo Ramada.
At least it's not the Fargo Howard Johnson....that place is just a pit! :)
Go Cats!

Well written. And all good natured jabs aside I have a neighbor who after 5 years is still battling with ID theft. Dummy had his SS card in his wallet. The pain caused a divorce and attempted suicide. Hope that none of the people who got voilated and that's what it is, under go the same pain. Tooth maybe some legal advice !! Youv'e been awful cranky lately so maybe a little karma will get you in a good mood.  ;D
Anyway good luck to all this weekend, bit hits, lot's of great plays and no injuries.

Thats the sound of any team that plays at OXY, finding out at half time, that some OXY folks have entered and stolen all their wallets and personal items.

The only real act of larceny that I recall was Daniel Tromello intercepting Dan Selway and running it back 74 yards, setting up Oxy's last score, which turned out to be the difference in the game, and which very well may be the TD that keeps Redlands out of the playoffs. Maybe someone from Redlands can pick Tromello out of a lineup. "That's him, officer! That's the guy who stole our Pool C bid!"

One last comment on this crappy subject. Once in awhile the "no spin zone" should take place and this is one of them. A very bad crime was committed against a visiting team while in the Oxy home. Occidental took responsibility for it and reportedly re-imbursed the Redlands football players for upwards of $13,000.

Over 50 young men had their wallets, ipods and personal items stolen. The only thing that should be commented about is the sympathy all of us should have for them with regards to drivers licenses, identy theft, credit card replacement, etc.

Paddymac's small infraction of blaming it on "oxy folks" was not right, but all of the posts after that statement missed the real issue and in my opinion were actually worse and went below the belt.

I know the intentions of all posts are meant in good spirit and humor, and I am sure these were no exception. But once in a while.......

I sure hope this is "the end" of this subject and let's get after each other on all the other stuff (which is a blast)
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

80 bucks at the Fargo Ramada is luxury accomodations. The heaters may even work in the room.
