The loss drops the Tigers to second place in the SCIAC with a 5-2 record. They finish the season 7-2 overall.

4-2, and third place in the conference.

The reportrix from the Redlands Daily Facts was at it again:

Only UR will enjoy a postseason glow this year. The Bulldogs travel to St. John University in Collegeville, Minn., for a first-round playoff game. UR faced St. John five years ago in its last postseason appearance.

The Bulldogs fell to the Red Storm 31-24.

The Bulldogs take on the Red Storm noon Saturday.

Wrong St. John's University.

That would be 11AM in Queens.
Chris Mullin is the starting QB.

I don't think we should continue to make fun of the intelligent reported from the Redlands paper... rather, when she gets a story correct, we should send her a bag o' cookies and some stickers with smiley faces on them to her office c/o the board.
I'll chip in.

She's trying... she must have gone to Pitzer for her education and smoked away her brain cells.

ROR,
That would be 1pm in Queens and 10am in Redlands. :-[

Also, another difference between you and him is that he didn't get trap blocked by FrankRickard.

I should have never told anyone about that :'(

I see Redlands has a number of "graduate student" listed on their roster.  Is that commonplace in the SCIAC?  I've never seen/noticed that before.

Pretty good article from the Ventura County Star on CLU's sudden end to their season.  Pretty good quotes from the head coach, with one quote some of the OXY guys might not like.  I think the point he made was a good one.

Doesn't anyone in MN work?  I can't keep up with you guys and your posting!

Must . . . resist . . . wisecrack . . . re MIAC fans . . . not having seen term . . . "graduate student."   ;)

On a more serious response:

Did you think we Oxy fans would be upset at:  "but with Oxy being the three-time league champion, I expected them to put up a little better fight."?

Personally, while it was clearly an exciting game . . . I expected a "better fight" out of Oxy as well . . . at least, I hoped for one.

And by "better fight" . . . I mean not giving up so many points, not falling behind . . . o yea, and winning.

stuff happens, Whittier got it done.

Right you are OxyBob...IMHO, the real SJU is the one in Minnesota, not the the Red Storm from Jamaica, NY, also known as St. John's University.  By the way, the SJU of Minnesota is the original SJU.  St. Johns of NY came about later.

Tooth-  Thats the one I was talking about.  No big deal I guess cause it sounds like OXY played poorly and the new guy here on the board might have had a hand in the outcome.

Excellent points both . . . they did (c'mon, D gave up 67) and he did.

'nuff said.
