hmm I've noticed we have some stat guru's on the board here so here's a challenge question for you (don't know if you can even look this up)... Longest game played in division III?... The WC vs Oxy game was defiantly the longest game I've played at 3 hours and 40 minutes....

the longest game i've ever watched was Poets v Redlands this season. I think it lasted about 14 hours..or so it seemed.  ;)

Whittier played Redlands this season?.... no no that game got cancelled because of the fires... you must be mistaken ;)

97 passes between the two teams btw...

How come d3.com couldn't show the poets some love?

In what way? We certainly gave Whittier some love in the preseason, when we picked them to go 5-4 overall, 4-2 in conference. You guys almost made it!

We listed your score and details on the front page on Saturday. Saturday night we featured the broadcast of the game front and center. What else were you looking for?

Hey Scurlock, time to come clean on that "listed at 5'11" deal.

Concerning football talent here, you also have to consider Azusa Pacific offering scholarships.

I wanted a big picture of Johnny Poet holding up "the shoes" pasted on the front page so I could print it out for my coaches office. ;) is that to much to ask....

haha surprisingly althought I don't believe it was accurate it wasn't necessarily a lie... we took about .5 seconds per person to do height and weight... I felt tall that day....
I felt about 10 feet tall saturday night

I hope the Johnnies keep looking ahead to their next round after dismissing Redlands as being soft. I love it when a team like this hangs on reputations of past dominence and underestimate their opponents. That is always a good thing.

I hope they don't forget to tighten up their chinstraps though (who knows, they might think they don't need to snap them at all) because the physical "blue collar" Redlands Bulldogs are planning to continue their tough dominate play right through the "Johnnies" and into the next round.

Thanks for all of the SCIAC support, Redlands won't let you down.

Yeah, fortunately for Redlands John Gagliardi and the Johnnies take their cues from a handful of jackasses with keyboards on Post Patterns.

Also, St. John's decided to prepare for this year's playoffs by scheduling the London Silly Nannies for all ten regular season games--the Johnnies don't even OWN chinstraps, let alone know when or how to snap them on.

---

If you know anything about John Gagliardi, you'll know there is no way he overlooks ANY opponent, let alone one as tough as the Bulldogs.  The players, on the other hand, have a tendency to not get up for certain weak-sister opponents, but I truly doubt there's any chance of that happening now that the playoffs have started and they've had their annual wake-up call at the hands of Bethel last week.

Can we get a scouting report on the Bulldogs (besides that they will out-hit, out-hustle, out-run, out-think, out-drink, out-athletic, and out-score the Johnnies)?  What type of offense do they run?  How many games did they play on new-style turf this year?  Any grass vs. turf tendencies?  Their defense looks small--I assume they are fast.  What type of offenses have had the best luck against them this year?

By that response, I have to know what law schools you've applied to.  Excellent game, btw.  You should download our archive to play for your grandkids.  www.oxybroadcast.com.

Congrats to Redlands on their playoff berth - I am sure they'll represent the SCIAC well.  I am still struggling to understand why my support for the Tigers went unrewarded
thanks Scandi, Can't comment on the Tigers other than they still almost pulled it off.  Their performances of just good enough to win every week came up short in the end. With 9 seconds left , I said here they go again, then of course .....deafening screams from the Redlands faithfull.

Message to redbulldog - You're talking to SJU fans, not the team.  No one on the team is underestimating UofR, even if we are. ;)  We're not talking SCIAC coaches here.  Read The Sweet Season again.  Or not. :-\

I'm interested in the "Multiple Stack" defense coach Fazio uses..does redlands use the 4-4 version? or a hybrid?  Seems to work well..

We all realize the calibre and class of both the team and of course Coach John Gagliardi. I also understand that no real championship calibre team takes anyone or anything for granted. Redlands certainly does not. Fans can talk, that is what makes it fun before a game. I am sure SJU fans and Redlands fans all wish they could be on the field Saturday. Sadly, all we can do is talk and then watch.

BTW-Coach Maynard of Redlands is a class act all the way as are most of the SCIAC head coaches. I am sure your comment about SCIAC coaches was meant as a way to have you tell us how great Coach John is.  Just a lousy comment about coaches you have no clue about. (not sure about the jackass comment either, I read it five times. I guess it is me) ;D

You are the man, I just read the play by play a few pages ago, way to finish your career strong. Good Job.

Any past Redland"s players know if Jeremy will make the road trip.LOL

I know when I was there a pep talk from Jeremy was like Mozart to the ears.

Of course the pool of potential players to choose from in Southern California is giant compared to most other locations around the country.  You swing a dead cat around in So. Cal and you hit quality football players...you swing a dead cat around in Collegeville and all you'll hit is a toothless guy named Max drinking Hamms.
