I can tell you that the Haskell kids had a once in a lifetime experience apart from the The game had more meaning than scheduling a cream puff.  Believe me, I complained about the game when it was first scheduled, after the game and after learning about the experience they had, it was worth it.

I think that Redlands handled it with dignity and sportsmanship.

Oh, give me a break. Trinity dropped out and Redlands needed a game. The Soboba tribe picked up Haskell's entire tab. It cost Redlands nothing. Quit making it sound like it was a lifelong dream sponsored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I think even the poets could have beaten Haskell Indian Nation, Menlo, Lewis and Clark......Although playing Carthage was a good experience... How how 4th in the Sciac losing by a touchdown to a non-west team (if it wasn't our first game...and there third, i say we come out with a win).

snoop dawg

No question Trinity dropped out, no question other teams might have been available, true the Soboba Tribe picked up the tab, but Haskell got the benefit of it and got to have an experience they would not have had but for the game.

This nice gesture by the Soboba Tribe  gave some kids a chance of the lifetime, and, even though UR is being criticized for playing them and even though it could have cost them a pool c bid if Oxy hadnt lost, I still think it was worth it.  Just my opinion.

Is Redlands sending a charter plane, or are you guys on your own for travel?

after the two and one start and the loss being close to Carthage. We really thought the Poets had a good chance to do something special this season. All is forgiven becuase you got the shoes back home.

great job!!!

Duffman,

We chartered a plane 02...isn't it up to the NCAA to arrange that?  Anyone know?

It was sweet for us when we had our own plane!  I hope the dogs get one this time around.

Yes, NCAA charters flights for the team, but I was referring to the fans that are coming out.

But I will be there...and im really starting to get excited! Looks like the weather report changed and light snow is possible....should be fun!

I don't know if I have ever been to the midwest from 10/1 to 4/1 and it was not cloudy/cold.  It seems as if there is a permanent cloud over the entire region!!!!  Hopefully the sun will come out a bit!

Killin' me here, OB. For the MIAC cruisers here as of late, Colton is a trailer park short of a complete gravel pit and Fontana is where the Hell's Angels were...uh, born.

It gets really sunny in January, usually, but that doesn't help when the temp doesn't get above zero.  :-\

I'm sure this game was approved at the highest levels of the two schools.  I think this also applies to Oxy's schedule and to Mt. Union scheduling Averett. Every school has it's own philosophy  It is really no different than Nebraska scheduling Florida International or some other patsy.

I really doubt that any of them read the SCIAC PP, but we all like to think we have an influence.  We should, of course. ;)

Colton is the Gateway to Rialto, where the Foothill Freeway comes to die -- in both directions.

my business is in fontana. If you have never had the pleasure of visiting, just think of Hell with stray dogs and roosters.

that should paint the picture for you.
