who was the other one?  The Oxy D?

QuoteCongratulations to Occidental's Kevin Chaves and Whittier's Josh Scurlock for being named the SCIAC Athletes of the Week!

OXY: Kevin Chaves, Cross Country
Senior Kevin Chaves was named the Division III West Region Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year by the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after winning the West Regional meet with an 8K course time of 24:34.85. Chaves led the Tigers to a second place finish and a bid to the NCAA National Championships next weekend in Minnesota. Chaves was also named SCIAC Athlete of the Year after placing first at the SCIAC Championship meet on Oct. 27. Oxy Head Coach Rob Bartlett was named the USTFCCCA Coach of the Year as well.

WC:  Josh Scurlock, Football
Scurlock finished with 443 yards on 25-of-40 passing with seven touchdowns and two interceptions in the Poets 67-61 upset victory over Occidental College on November 11.  He set Whittier College single-game records with the seven touchdown passes and 443 passing yards.  He also rushed for 105 yards and another score.  He finishes 2007 with a single-season record 2,650 yards of total offense.  He was just two completions short of setting the record for completions in a season and three touchdown passes short of the season record.  He leaves Whittier with career passing records in yards (6,439) and touchdowns (50).
I love those softball questions. ;D

More sports action in Minnesota next week.

DO you guys think I have a shot at Erin Andrews?  If she is in Collegeville this weekend will someone slip her my phone number?

EastCoastStag

Good thing she'll never be in Claremont. She'd have to fight off all the guys and the Scrippsies as well.

Yesterday it was soccer talk, today it's another installment of Where Not to Vacation in California.  If this is what you talk about during football season, how depressing does it get here in the offseason?

I guess we'll find out in about 48 hours.

No more depressing then living in Minnesota.

Oooohh ... as a resident of NorCal (which does beat the south - except maybe for Pasadena ;D), you obviously have no clue as to Minnesota.

snoop dawg

Wow....Im gone for a few hours and the Minesoooooooooooooota guys are all over So. Cal.   Let me just say this, I was in Minesoooooota last week and had on a hooded sweatshirt, mittens, heavy coat and my masculinity almost went into hybernation.   Today, in So. Cal, I played golf in shorts.  Besides, Whitecastle sucks.  Their burgers are a combination of hoofs, tounge, a$$holes and who knows what else.  I will say they are good hangover food though, at least when you are twenty something.

Erin Andrews is a perfect example of why men are not good as women at multi-tasking. I see her on TV and have absolutely no idea what she said because my brain is busy devoting 100% effort to my eyes.

As for your shot at her, Wild Thing, you have exactly three chances -- slim, none, and fat.

OxyBob

Now this is more like what we do in the MIAC-- we used to have "Anna Fridays", but that got nixed when the pictures of Anna started revealing more of her and less of clothing...

But I could live with Erin Andrews Fridays...

Safe travels to the Redlands contingent!
