Don't feel bad, Snoopy, you wouldn't have won it last year either.

OB.......You made me feel like Clint Eastwood and the academy awards......maybe some day I'll be forgiven, or will it always be...."unforgiven" ......with you?    :)

I thought he'd be entering the 40oz curl competition on friday and saturday nights in the off season.  It's usually when the football team let's loose for a couple months until spring training starts up.

not his thing...dad might be another story :)

He takes after his mom where this is concerned!! :D

Now that the SCIAC is done for the year in FB you can follow the UW Warhawks in the Elite 8 with Danny Jones at the helm. Love him or not he still was a brother in arms for many years in the SCIAC.
Weather report:
Chance of snow in the morning...then widespread snow or sleet in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulation around 4 inches. Ice accumulation of less than one quarter of an inch. Highs around 30. Wind chill -1. East winds 5 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
Bet ya wish you were there  ;D ;D ;D

10:00 am pst. Broadcasters are ten times better than this years version of the CLU wanna be's.

Yes, to watch Danny Jones for a full 4 quarters in his first personal test of the year.
He knew this was coming when he made the decision and he knew that it would just have to toughen him up and he just had to know he had Beaver and the Hogs to rely on.

That's a fair fight.

The conditions in UWW sound amazing. Being a New England boy, raised in cold, playoff games when the windchill is below zero and baseball cancelled to April and May snow - I wish I could be playing in those conditions. Lucky bastards.

Last year UWW had online video streaming of it's quarterfinal game with Saint John's - are they not doing that this year?

Congratulations to Former Oxy Quarterback Andy Collins on Signing a contract  with the LA Avengers.
Can't wait to see what he does on the main stage at the infamous Staples center.
From Oxy's website:

Los Angeles, Calif. (November 30, 2007)

Occidental's three-time Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year (2004, 05, 06) Andy Collins signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League on Thursday.

During Collins' time at Occidental he was dominant in the conference, leading the Tigers to an 18-0 SCIAC record and triggered a 26-game regular season win streak. He was among the Division III national leaders in a number of offensive categories, earning 2006 All America status. In both 2005 and 2006 Collins was named to the All-West Region team as well.

In 2006 Collins ranked 12th in NCAA Division III in total offense (273.1) and 14th in passing efficiency (153.7). During his junior season he was ranked ninth in passing efficiency (165.6) and sixth in total yardage (341.2) in 2005.

The accolades and accomplishments continued as Collins tossed a 54-yard touchdown pass and caught another on Dec. 16 in the Aztec Bowl, becoming the first quarterback named Aztec Bowl Most Valuable Player.

In the Texas vs. the Nation game, Collins held his own against a Nation defense loaded with Division I talent, completing three of seven passes for 55 yards in just over one quarter of play.  He also threw an interception returned 60 yards for a touchdown.  After the interception,  Collins engineered a ten-play, 65-yard drive, capped by a one-yard touchdown run by Baylor's Paul Mosley that tied the score at 17-17.

On May 12 Collins  participated in the New York Giants mini-camp at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey as an unsigned free agent.

Collins joins an Avengers squad that finished second in the AFL West Division (9-7) before recording the first post season victory in franchise history by defeating the Utah Blaze 64-42 at the Staples Center.

Let's see:
We have Andy Collins, Danny Jones, Junior Dan Selway, Scurlock11, Soph Jericoh Toilolo and Newcomer of the Year Jacob Caron.

It looks to me like the SCIAC is "The Cradle of Quarterbacks".

For some strange reason I note some sarcasm in Bob's post..... My guess would be he transferred for the beautiful weather and buxom babes of the Great Lakes region? Yes? No?

Although one interesting question that I am not sure this board addressed - his academic standing. As a transfer myself, you need two years at a school in order to graduate. He obviously can't play another year (that is unless he never saw the field as a frosh, then he could petition I believe), so what does he do? Would CLU take him back for him to graduate? Interesting position for him.

Anyways. One good weekend down, only two more to go. It will be Mount vs who?? UMHB or UWW?

Start picking!

It's simple. He wanted to play at the elite level in D3 and he got a break with the QB graduating from WW. He went and competed for the staring spot and the rest is history. No more no less.

I was wondering if anyone had yet figured out why Danny Jones transferred from CLU to UW-Whitewater. I still don't understand it.

You gotta go on to the D3 web and look at the photo gallery of the game. I was there and it was amazing. We got in Friday night. It was clear and cold but no snow. By game time, 12:00 WW time,  the feild had 6 inches of snow on it.  It snowed for most if the game and then in the 3rd quarter the sleet started. Frickin amazing that anyone lived through it let alone play in it  ;D
