I think you meant Ernie's Sniper Squad!  he was the crazy who hid in the bushes off the Pennsylvania Turnpike with a rifle shooting at semi's! How about........Stallworth's Stallions or Swann's Swingers, since we always thought Lynn swung both ways. :D

Good one.....Bradshaws bombers.

Snoopy Dog

I saw your guy Rock Blier at a conference recently.  The guy was a key note speaker and had a pretty cool story.  Even though my favorite deffensive player is Gregg Llyod I can not say Im a Steerlers fan, but did enjoy meeting Rocky personally after the speech.

For a while my next door neighbor in an apartment in Santa Monica was Calvin Sweeny.  He was hardly ever around, so I only met him a few times.  I did get to know his girlfriend, Zivia.  He had the misfortune of being a receiver on the same team as Swann and Stallworth.  :'(

Were you ever flagged for illegal use of hands?

OxyBob
No, she was quite aware of the consequences of illegal substitution. :-*

Just as well - having a receiver penalized for roughing the passer would just be too weird. ;)

Swann and Stallworth, maybe the best one-two punch as WR's ever.  How about Kolb's Krew?

Rocky played with more heart than anyone I have ever seen in the NFL.  he didnt have alot of anything but heart and he made the most of it.

Rocky is about the least impressive former NFL player that I have ever seen.  The guy was dressed in a suit as you would expect, and looked like any given joe or anyone of our dads.  Expect one differnece, he had a ring on his finger that could break the plate glass on Rodeo Dr.

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas.

While I may not be able to provide the same joyous cheer as St. OxyBob, I still wish you all a Merry Christmas and belated Haunkkah (I'll try to be a little PC here).
Most importantly, that you to all the teams in the SCIAC for providing us with a fantastic season - from Redland's posting a comeback year to the Poets over Oxy to a PeacePipe returning home. Congratulations to all. Good things coming for next year.
Thank you players. Thank you fans. Thank you board. Welcome newcomers.
I am off to the cold, dark northeast.

Ho ho ho!

it's too easy to like the super steelers of the seventies:)..I prefer my late eighties squad with Bubby Brister, Louis Lipps and the modern day Rocky...Merrill Hoge. Don't let the ugly suits and bad hair do on espn fool you, he was tough as nails on the field

FTP....As loyal a Steeler fan as I am....I found it very hard to cheer for Bubby.....How can your Qb, your team leader be called.........Bubby?  What is a Bubby?  Was he after Joe Gilliam?  Talk about gangsta!  How about Ham's Hords?  Or Shell's Shalackers?  Loved the cheer "Give 'em hell Donnie Shell".

forget all that..the thing to remember at christmas time is Myron Cope's annual Christmas song.  "Bernie Kosar, hit him with a crow bar, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la"

Who was the Occidental quarterback who started over Andy Collins and then got injured/benched and transferred? He was a famous QB's son I believe.

BHOTBruceOxy

Justin Elway.  He and Andy had gone through a good battle during camp, and were splitting reps in the first game of the 2005 season @ Chapman (I saw the whole thing from the film booth after suffering a torn labrum in my shoulder and undergoing surgery).  That happened to be the last regular season game that we lost until Cal Lu this past season.  Unfortunately, I never really got to talk to Justin about it before he left....
