Yeah, we're the inspiration for several of CCR's songs, like "Who'll Stop the Rain?"

Everybody join in . . .

"Oh lord, stuck in McMinnville again . . . . " (I think that was the original version)

;) ;D

Easy there Tooth or I might have to give you a one-way ticket to Attu island.

Sabretooth Tiger

Staying consistent with our theme . . .

McMinnville --> Attu . . .

"It's like deja vu all over again . . . "

OK, not exactly true . . . not so many trees on Attu . . . I'm actually cold just thinking about it.

;)

Mr. Ypsi

Attu is too metropolitan.  Try the Pribilofs at the tag-end of the Aleutians.  A fascinating piece in today's Detroit Free Press revealed that 5 of the 10 teachers at the school there are from Houghton, Michigan.  Apparently they feel right at home. :P

cawcdad

Quick point Ypsi. Attu is at the tag end of the Aleutans. The Pribilof Islands are out in the middle of the Bering Sea a couple of hundred miles north of the Aleutians. Been there. :o

DBQ1965, the teams you mentioned in the old CCC now are part of 5 different leagues. Many of the old rivalries are no longer.

If it's isolated you want, try Midway. That's over a thousand miles from anywhere. Oh wait. You can't go there. The Fish and Wildlife Service won't let you, even though it's a national monument. They keep it as their private playground.

Mrs. C finally was able to get there this summer for the 65th commemoration of the Battle of Midway, and she didn't want to come home. She said it was really pretty. There were only three veterans of the battle there for the ceremony.

What's really embarassing is that I knew that - curse trusting the Free Press for geography lessons.  (But I'm really, really embarassed at mixing up Attu with Adak. :-[)

I've always wanted to go there, so hope no one from the Aleutians is seeing this fiasco. ::))

Ah . . . some folks dream of Mai Tai's at the Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki . . . some of Attu . . .

Mr. Y, you crack me up.

OB . . . use a pun, go to jail . . . + k for "Prowed Mary" . . . you did much better than I in seeking additional CCR/Fogerty references.

ST, you have the choice of either my puns about CCR and Sun-Maid, or Snoopy's wishful thinking about UR and plays his son made.

OxyBob

yeah, I hate dads that talk all the time about their son. :)

Ha! Nice one FTP.

Any news on Hammer staying a Poet? I assume since nothing said no rumors.

I assume L.R. is either back at school or getting ready to head back. Must be excited for the start of the off-season and spring ball.

Fear the Poet

Hammer is a Poet for sure! LR has a clean bill of health and is on the track team. He is a thrower. We feel blessed that his injury didn't turn out to be serious. He has put on 10 pounds already and plans on being 230-235 by game one of football season.

thanks my man

There was a poll in the LA Times today regarding which sports personality someone would like to have dinner with.  It was won by John Wooden.

I voted for OxyBob, but he still came out with negatvie numbers. :(
