You also forgot the all important information on Tijuana.
No need to go all the way to Tijuana, which is a two hour drive. Mexico is only 20 minutes away in Fontana.
I thought that was pronounced Fontucky.

Times have changed...

Even with a Nascar track???  This is an outrage...did the rednecks all move back to Colton then?

Handed out this past Sunday and now worn by Mr. Danny Jones. Hopefully one day in the future a SCIAC team can proudly declare we are #1 instead of #35 in the country.  ;D
Before you get your panties all bunched I am only having a little fun.

Not even close Bob. That 909 area is known as Fontucky, the Pit of dispair and toothless central.  More of a Nascar loving, i don't own a dress shirt and indeed wear a wife beater type of place. Haha. Just kidding.

I think it's fair to say that the 909 has a little bit of everything, although in certain parts Fontucky still does it justice (my favorite recent 909 experience was driving down the 60 behind a guy who'd mounted an LCD TV in the rear window of his pickup so the people driving behind him could watch his favorite porn).  :o

As others have pointed out,  Redlands is  close enough to many of SoCal's attractions as long as you don't mind a little traffic.  I've always liked the city of Redlands.  It's one of the few places in SoCal that really got to develop as a small town before it got swallowed up by the LA megalopolis.  As far as Coach Maynard and the program goes I think this board is more or less unanimous in respecting him as a guy who runs a solid program.  I am sure your son will have a good experience there on his staff.

I think I would tell my boys to take an insurance policy out on that sucker before wearing it in any large metro city.

Danny Jones lost 3 straight to Oxy. Maybe in another life he'll beat the Tigers. As for Redlands, it's up to 4 straight losses and counting, at least for those who are still there.

Ya, the thought of this "unfinished business," has got to be keeping him up at night!   ::)  Guess he will just have to be satisfied with being 1-0 against the Raiders!   ;) :D ;D

But the cultural activities in TJ are the finest in Mexico.  Every young man needs to experience Tijuana at least once.

I really hope that is not the UWW ring.. I hope that is a joke. That is tacky... next thing I would expect to see would be a freakin' championship grill or something.
Lame.

Like I said before, I wonder what DJ will do with regards to graduation. Since, most schools (including state schools) require a certain amount of time and credits before granting a diploma. I would wager that CLU won't take him back to grant him a diploma. I hope he likes long winters, because if he is going to graduate... he's going to be up there until at least next December.

ECS:  +k because you said what I wanted to.  I that is why I wrote my comment.  That ring is the most tasteless thing that I have ever seen.  You say I'm jealous.  Hardly, I am a lifelone Chicago Cubs fan, Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and I chose to play football for an IIAC school that was 3-7 the year before I got there.  My point:  I never expected to win a national championship, hell will freeze over before my teams actually win anything themselves, and if you want to say I am just a looser then go right ahead.

I have seen some nice championship rings, but that ring makes Master P's latest hub cap for a medalion look modest.  I am glad that you won a national championship, the lord knows I never did and never will, but if this ring is the finished product, then its reaffirms what I have seen on the WIAC message board since the title was brought to WW, WI.  Are you guys done talking about the lack of AA from this years team, or are you still rehashing that?

What did you expect from a state where a gourmet meal is a ring bologna, a wheel of cheddar, and a 12-pack of Pabst (per person)?

OxyBob

My dad and I would have had a feast with that.

QuoteLA is 65 miles West.  Palm Springs is about 40 miles East.  It's about an hour to Big Bear in the Mountains.  Newport Beach is about 55 miles Southwest.  North County San Diego is about 70 miles South...downtown San Diego another 35 miles.  The desert...its pretty much everywhere.

Suggest to take a quick look at the orange groves that put Redlands on the map before they go the way of the ones in "Orange" County. 'Course, there is always the State Park Museum of orange groves 13 miles away from Redlands.

Wow, those are some pretty hard feelings in response to a joke.  I figured when Stealth posted that ring that it might get the board going a little bit but the venom that spewed out really surprised me.  You boys attacked DJ, the school, the program, even the entire state of Wisconsin.  OB, you are one of the wittiest, smartest posters on PP and I always enjoy your posts but when DJ wearing a National Championship ring is mentioned, your comeback is to say, "Ya, but he never beat Oxy."   I just thought that was weak.  You boys are right, the rings are gaudy.  I'll bet the boys won't even wear them.   :D

And correct me if I am wrong, but didn't DJ's HC, "abandon," him and the team first?

IMO...I think Stealth knew full well that he was going to get some hard jabs back at his troll job of a post.  If Stealth might have posted just "congrats to Jones for his ring" that might have been fine but he did take a pot shot at the entire conference and why would anybody be surprised it didn't receive a warm welcome?

[Wow...I posted on the SCIAC board without ripping on Maynard for ducking Linfield.]

You're right. When a guy abandons his school, teammates and coaches after 3 years, and sneaks out of town to go play for a school where the admission standard is that you're breathing, I doubt that he lost any sleep. Congratulations again for winning the championship with a ringer from the SCIAC.

OxyBob

No doubt he knew full well what the reaction would be, but OB's post was in direct response to mine and mine was a joke.  Hence the smiley"s.   ;)
