I liked the article, OB. Thanks for the link. It's not often that we get to read about someone so important who was at one of our little left coast D3 schools.

That stuff about the Muslims refusing to let him go is bizarre. Leaving their faith is worse than murder and deserves a beheading? Those folks have a different mindset.

EC Stag is right. Let's go back to football.
Two words:  THE STREAK

I presume LR must be finishing up the year or is already done with finals.
Congrats on a great rookie year in football, track and in the classroom.

Summertime is upon almost all the SCIAC teams already.

Let's go STAGS. If you live in the IE, you better be hanging out in "Gains"-ville w/ Cam and the rest of the guys.

"'When you're dealing with the defenses of the Patriots, you have to have guys who are very mature,' said Hall of Fame linebacker Harry Carson, who played under Belichick for nine seasons when Belichick was a Giants assistant. 'You have to have guys who know just by looking at film what the possibilities are out of certain formations. And if things come up that you haven't planned for, you have to have guys who are able to keep their poise.'

'I'm a student of the game,' Mayo said on the Monday after the draft. 'When I'm at home, I'm studying film. I'm always trying to learn the ins and outs and where the weaknesses are in the defense, where the stretch points are. I don't study players; I just like watching defenses in general, I like to watch units as a whole.'"

Hmmmm. This sounds like something I was promoting late in 2007, but someone scoffed at this and the study of matchups, prefering to just lineup and punch somebody in the mouth.....

I think this is a pretty fair point.  If you have a great handle on what can happen, who cares who is executing it.  If you can read your keys, and see what is happening, you should be able to understand where the ball is going.

Far to many times have I talked with players on both sides of the ball who do not see the difference in 3-4 vs. the 4-3.  To that point I have seen far to many players on the other side of the ball who can not understand the difference between a pro set and a twins set.

And people wonder why some teams stay around the .500 mark while other teams continueto soar.

..or why some teams haven't made it out of the first round of the playoffs in a while......

..or maybe it's the summer training program specifically designed for footwork and durability. Supposed to be better for conditioning than suicides.

Aw, OB's just a rookie! ;D

BTW, have I mentioned recently the youth of the Titans, and the distractions of a bunch of farm-boy teenagers being in SoCal in December? ;) :o

Dear Abby,

I fail to see Claremont popping up here... do we even recruit anymore? Or, do we expect a Gocong to fall into our laps every single year.

To be expected of Mudd. All in all a very good choice for them.

No way. That is awesome that Bill Nye was the commencement speaker at Harvey Mudd. He's a part of the many reasons why I decided to major in Biology at Oxy.

I think Oxy should have gone with Choosing Hulk Hogan as the commencement speaker instead. For some odd reason, back in 04', my class cabinet had about 50 votes shy of actually having the hulkster address the future of this great nation. Haha. I'm sure the Mayor did a good job though..

Alrighty here folks,
Now that the boys are out of finals, I have my spring recap:

1) Approx 30 freshmen coming in next season.
1a) 5-7 transfers coming, 2 O-Linemen, 1 from UNC and 1 from USD.
2) Successful Spring Practice (as reported by friends still on the team)
3) new DC w/ previous NFL camp experience and multiple JuCo national championship rings (as a DC).
4) Boosters Club continues to raise funds, and will be needed as the roster should be over 80 players and needs more locker space.

Thanks for the update guys. Keep them coming.

STAG LOVE!

Inital Forecast to come... just gotta, ya know, have time to breath.
