AHA! I knew it!

All those championship teams that came up to McMinnville were loaded with scholarship players!

Don't know too much about this source or its reputation. However there are a few SCIAC players mentioned, including Ashton Clarke (LB-CMS)

Enjoy.

Back to slaving. Nothing like consuming american-made adult beverages in large quantities on the 4th, then working away the rest of the weekend. My body is rejecting me.

TCA news: George Foreman grills up 'Family Foreman' on TV Land

TCA [Television Critics Association] today saw TV Land intro heavyweight boxing champion and pitchman George Foreman, George III and IV to panel up and talk about their new show.

Foreman and his wife and children – four of whom are also named George – will grace "Family Foreman" on Wednesday, July 16 at 10:00PM ET/PT.

The six thirty-minute episode series follows Foreman as he balances his paternal duties with his business endeavors, and attempts to offer candid, behind-the-scenes look at this pugilist's inner world.
...

Mary Foreman (Joan/Mom)
Mary Foreman, also known as Joan, is the backbone of the Foreman clan whose fiery personality motivates her family and keeps them in line -- whether they like it or not.

Described as the "perfect match" for Mr. Foreman, keeping him grounded even when he comes up with crazy ideas like stepping back into the ring.  A softie at heart. she loves her husband and her family and doesn't let anything get in the way of their individual or collective success and happiness.

...

George III "Monk" (The Manager)
George III, or "Monk", is one of the driving forces behind his father's multi-million dollar businesses and acts as Mr. Foreman's manager and ultimate 24/7 job of gatekeeper.

Together with his older brother, George Jr., nothing reaches dad without their approval.  The two vet any and all requests and proposals for Team Foreman.
...

George IV "Big Wheel" (The Jock)
Finishing his sophomore year at the University of Redlands, "Big Wheel" is the running back on his college football team.  Popular and philanthropic, Big Wheel supports a charity that aids kids with cancer.
...

My favorite character is sure to be Foreman's daughter Natalie:

Quote
Natalie (The Songbird)
Natalie is a tiny pretty dynamo and blessed with a beautiful voice, as she yearns to break out as a performer and will do just about anything to make sure that happens.  However, these dreams conflict with a promising career as a physician that her parents have always wanted her to pursue.  She balances a modeling contract with charity work.

Sounds like another Dead Poets Society in the offing.

Some inside information, rumor alert, apprently CMS star Alex Weber-Shapiro is transfering to UCLA...has anyone else heard this?

That would definitely be a blow to the baseball team. Much less protection in the lineup for Blomberg. I would hate to see him go, such a good player. However, he must make the best decision for his career (speaking as someone who transferred as well). One thing he should think about - a CMCer played A ball last year as an undrafted free agent. If AW-S is really serious and will be in the UCLA starting lineup, then this is the best move. Otherwise, staying at CMC and putting up good numbers and gaining recognition is not such a bad move.

But, since this is the football board and right field is not a position on the gridiron, I'll abstain from further commentary.

For some reason, I have a good feeling about this season. Can't quite put my finger on it. But, for some reason I really think good things can and will happen. I know I get frustrated from time to time, but that is just because I expect and want the best. Hopefully, the guys are working hard this summer and are ready to hit the field running in August. With any luck, I can get an update on the summer.
I miss the game. I don't miss double sessions.. but I miss the ice bath after practice, and yes even practice itself.
