(stat of the game) was 5 turnovers (3 INT, 2 fumbles) for oxy vs 2 (1 int, 1 fum) for clu.
if you can still win after coughing up the ball -3x - you are a pretty good team.....

while overcoming this stat as well "Penalties: Number-Yards    8-60"

Incredible game . . . incredible experience.  That Fourth Quarter was surreal.

I was able to take some shots when I was not running for cover from the torrential downpours (I felt like a squirrel trying to make up its mind whether or not to cross a busy street).  They are posted here:  http://gallery.me.com/aybates#100091

P.S.  Best wishes to LR

Oh my word!
I am so sorry. As you see we were wondering. That feeling from the stands must be second only to the pain on the ground.

thanks my firend..LR will be fine, he is a tough kid. I was more worried about Lucy. As LR was rolling in pain, I quote Lucy, "can I go down there and see if he is ok?"  :)

Ok to set the record straight I asked if I could go down there to see if he was ok only when he was off the field and sitting on the trainers table!! ;D
I cant help it.. I'm a mom and you can all tell me to cut the cord already but he'll alway be my baby and I'll always worry so when one of my kids gets hurt my first instinct is to go see if they are ok :D

Thank you everyone for your good wishes and thoughts for LR and the family.

I'm sorry to read about LR's injury.  He proved last year that he is tough.  I hope that his last two years are injury free.

Daw & FTP  Ihope the injury isn't too bad and I will say a prayer for a speedy recovery for your son.  It is a horrible feeling seeing your son down on the field.

DAW and FTP,

I am so sorry!
Like Snoop says, nothing is worse than seeing one of your kids get hurt. He'll be back next year.

That is OK!  Every mom feels that way.  Mrs DF2004 went through many of those times.  She knew though that she could not.  Son of DF2004 would have had a fit worse than any injury the thought of mom down there would have made him feel worse.  Don't worry about your maternal reaction it is understood.  I hope he mends well and recovers fully.

Daw, I am sorry about your son - there is nothing worse than watching your child in pain from the stands (no matter how old they are!) ... I've been stopped from hopping a fence or two after my boys were down on the field!  The "momma bear" instinct always kicks in to protect our "cubs" from harm.  Hope your son is back on his feet again soon.

Very sorry to hear about LR. Here's praying for a speedy & complete recovery.

Hey FTP and DAW,

Since LR is currently riding with an injury, will you two still be able to attend this years game between The Tigers and Poets later on this month? I hope you guys still will be rooting for your team and finishing the season with them. Plus, I think FTP still owes me a burger and beer when you guys show up at the rock (lol. just kidding, It would be awesome to meet you Poets Faithful)

To FTP and LUCY...I met you one pm before a Whittier home game as I was strolling the parking lot You were most welcoming to a visitor. I have read D3 for the past few years but never registered and posted until now..I feel so bad for your son. I hope his rehap goes well and that he follows the doc's and trainer's orders. If so he shoild be fine.Keep your spirits up.

And by the way, your win-loss record may not show it, but I respect your Poets for never giving up. It does take a few years to develop a consistant program...Keep supporting LR and the rest of the team, for the best is yet to come.

As between UR and CLU, only Redlands has a real chance to get a Pool C bid, of which there are probably six. History works against the Bulldogs because the SCIAC has never had two teams make the playoffs. More importantly, I don't hold out much hope for Redlands because as a longtime SCIAC fan, I always assume that if there is a way for the NCAA to screw the SCIAC, they'll do it 100% of the time.

OxyBob

That's because of the Committee's Left Coast Prejudice.    ;)

Conrats to Oxy and CLU for another classic match up. A bit sloppy with all the turn overs in the rain and mud but never the less a very exciting game. Old school college ball in an old school environment. A bit disappointed that CLU couldn't pull it off in the end but either way it still was fun to watch.
OB,
If the SCIAC would go a bit deeper in the playoffs they might get more consideration in pool c. No slam on thier heart or will to win. Just presenting a veiw point backed by the facts. One or two and out year after year doesn't bode well with the selection committee. But football gods willing we can get a WIAC vs. SCIAC match up this year.
Best to all and speedy recovery to LR.

I dropped a SCIAC question on K-Mack (aka Keith McMillan from D3fb.com) during the weekly Liberty League (my alma mater's east region conf) call in show hosted by Eric Ren (RPI) and Frank Rossi (Union) tonight.

An archive of tonight's show for anyone who cares to check it out is on:
