OK Bob, but what about the MIAC winner who will probably have two losses?  Is it really that much more expensive to travel from Ca to Oregon than Minn to Ca?  I wouldn't think the difference would be that great.  It sure seems like Oxy should host the first round, they have had a great season.
IF there are only two 'Left Coast' teams, pairing them is ONE plane ride.  Dividing them means TWO plane rides.  It ain't fair, but it IS NCAA D3 economics.

Snoopy made the same argument last season. He ignores reality and the NCAA playoff criteria and as usual just makes stuff up as he goes.

Geez, even when I root for Oxy you give me $hi+   I really though I was throwing out a question for banter.

Well DAW, I did see FTP driving down the 134 with a tool set strapped to the roof of the car! ;)

The way he drives he'll never catch them :o

How is LR?  I hope he keeps his spirits up.
Well it's possibly better news than the trainers orignally thought.  After a day of "RICE" he felt a little better on monday.  They didn't do Xrays (which I still don't understand why, just  to make sure but than what do i know I'm just a mom!! ;D
The believe its an aggravated Ligament (how they went from a broken fibia to this well..??) They are going to wrap it tonight he said and he's going to try and practice.  (Kid would practice if his bone was sticking out if he could!!) So I guess we wait and see.  He plans to dress out on Saturday if all goes well this week and see what happens ..
For some reason when I tried to tell him my opinon he didn't really want to hear it ;D

Guess we'll know more during the week.  He just texted me and told me his leg was feeling a little better but He'd tell me that even if it wasn't!!

OK....any thoughts on whether Oxy will host a first round game?  It would seem unfair to make them play WU at WU.

Hmmm, if Willamette and Oxy each win their last two games, Willamette will be 10-0 and Oxy will be 9-0. Willamette has a better Strength of Schedule, and nonconference wins over Concordia-Moorhead (tied 1st place MIAC), La Verne and D-2 Southern Oregon while Oxy has beaten Menlo, Chapman, and winless Colorado College. Willamette also played Cal Lutheran and beat the Kingsmen 31-17 while Oxy barely squeaked out a 24-21 win. Other than that, it's unfair.

Assuming both Occidental and Redlands win out, what are the chances of Redlands garnering enough support for a Pool C bid?  If UW-Stout wins over UW-Whitewater this week what factor do those chances grow by?  Is it possible for both UWW and UR to get Pool C bids?
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

The med professionals at the game originally called it a broken fibula and he didn't get x-rays?

WTF?

Fear the Poet

under our new regime of optimism and hope, I will now predict that the Poets bring the shoes home yet again. ;)

We have them just where we want them. After our tune up game against Eastcoaststag,we should be ready to ruin Oxy's playoff plans yet again.

GO POETS!!

Whitewater has better Strength of Schedule numbers than Redlands. I would think UR wants to root for Whitewater to win out and for Stevens Point to lose to Eau Claire or La Crosse, which would give the Pool A WIAC bid to Whitewater and eliminate Stevens Point.

One Pool C contender will be eliminated this weekend; the loser of the NJAC game between Rowan and Montclair St. will be all done.

Redlands is also fighting it out with Washington & Jefferson of the PAC, which has similar SOS numbers to UR.

The Bulldogs first have to beat Chapman and CLU, both worthy opponents.

OxyBob

Does the schedule with the SCIAC only having 9 games hurt Redlands then?  If UWW suffers a second loss and then become 8-2 with a one loss Redlands team at 8-1 the loss does not affect UWW?  Curious I don't know the answer to that question.

Technically I don't think this should be an issue because one of WW's games was against a non-D3 team which is not officially considered....

Actually it was one of the trainers at the game that called it a broken fibula after they intially thought it was a high ankle sprain.  The same trainer that thought it was broken is saying that based on LR's symptoms now that it's probably an aggravated ligament and not a break as originally diagnosed by them.  They are waiting to do xrays till wednesday now if needed.

DAW........and they are going to let him practice on a possible fracture?  Demand the x-ray now before he does more serious damage.  Just sayin'
