FTP/DAW - I know that LR will not be inclined to go along with this . . . lord knows that I would not have . . . nor did I . . . back in the day . . .

but I played years of rugby taping up and running around on sprained ankles that I did not let heal . . . the ligament damage became chronic and I have arthritis in both ankles . . . was told by orthopod in my late 40s that I should never run/jog if I want to walk when I'm older . . . very stiff and painful joints . . .

LR should let it heal, there is a price to pay for our youthful enthusiasm . . . my dad always warned me about that price, based on injuries he got in football back in the 1930s that came back to haunt him when he was the age I am now . . .

The lessons did not stick then, but I hear them now, loud and clear.

Assuming both Occidental and Redlands win out, what are the chances of Redlands garnering enough support for a Pool C bid?  If UW-Stout wins over UW-Whitewater this week what factor do those chances grow by?  Is it possible for both UWW and UR to get Pool C bids?

Whitewater has better Strength of Schedule numbers than Redlands. I would think UR wants to root for Whitewater to win out and for Stevens Point to lose to Eau Claire or La Crosse, which would give the Pool A WIAC bid to Whitewater and eliminate Stevens Point.

One Pool C contender will be eliminated this weekend; the loser of the NJAC game between Rowan and Montclair St. will be all done.

Redlands is also fighting it out with Washington & Jefferson of the PAC, which has similar SOS numbers to UR.

The Bulldogs first have to beat Chapman and CLU, both worthy opponents.

OxyBob

Does the schedule with the SCIAC only having 9 games hurt Redlands then?  If UWW suffers a second loss and then become 8-2 with a one loss Redlands team at 8-1 the loss does not affect UWW?  Curious I don't know the answer to that question.
Technically I don't think this should be an issue because one of WW's games was against a non-D3 team which is not officially considered....

That's right.  So they have a 9 game schedule the same as Redlands.  So if UWW has two losses they would be behind by a game.

This may have been addressed before,(sorry in advance if it has), but are offensive and defensive statistics looked at when determining playoff selections?  Redlands seems to be putting up a lot of points in the games they're winning.  Will this be taken into account when choosing teams to place in Pool C?

DAW -   I feel for you...It is hard to know what to do when you are getting differing opinions...who do you believe? ( I know my boys would say just about anything to get back out on the field -)  Just make sure LR is healthy before they send him back out there.  Err on the side of caution always.
And, contrary to the popular belief in my house, tape is not magic and does not heal you..(If I had a dollar for every time my boys said "It's fine mom, I'll just tape it up", I wouldn't need to be teaching eighth-grade math!)

The Roop

UW-Stevens Point only has 7 in region games. So if you're a Redlands fan you want UW-Whitewater to get the Pool A bid from the WIAC. It probably wouldn't hurt if Wheaton dropped another one too as the Pool Cs get looked at on a national basis.

I don't usually say this to political allies, but F**K YOU.

You've been non-stop on my case for nearly two years now for something I never said in the first place, and I have finally decided that (like Paul Bunyan) "I'm a big-hearted guy, but too much is enough!"

OB, you are a bully, a liar, and a generally pathetic excuse for for a human being.  (Sorry to hold back from my real feelings, but Pat would probably delete them.)

My apologies to SCIAC posters who don't know the origins of this post. ;)  And, yes, I realize my karma will drop drastically from the same cabal that got OB where he is.

Ouch....Take a chill Pill Mr. Ypsi.
Like Pat and the greats that created these boards have said time after time... I think we need to take everything and anything posted on these boards with a Grain of salt. Feelings can get hurt, Opinions may be disagreed upon, people may not agree, but come on, We are Men right??? We can do better than just say that anyone is "generally  a pathetic excuse for a human being." Even though, we may not agree with posters on this board, we should never go as low as calling someone a poor excuse for a human being.
Anywho's, I hope all of you are enjoying your night. As a young 24 year old man who is currently experiencing history in the making (and yes happy to note that I and so many other old and young oxy alums who post on these boards  have something in common with president Elect "O": Geeze, the exposure that Oxy is currently getting in National News can only do good) I am glad that this time around my generations vote actually counted and made a defferience. (PC et al. Sorry for not noting this on the politcial baord, but, I just had to break this rule this time and this time only. )

Go SCIAC football. Go Tigers. And thank you D3boards gods for creating a board where I can escape the realities of life and just post my nonsense opinions.
Good speed to all and have a great night

Hey, don't be jealous. IWU may not have a US President, but it has its own famous alumni and would-be alumni. According to the "Did You Know?" page on the IWU web site:

QuoteComedian Andy Dick attended Illinois Wesleyan University but did not graduate.  John Belushi applied but was not accepted.

Here's Andy Dick's mug shot after his arrest for felony sexual battery on a minor and for drug possession:

The charges were later reduced to misdemeanor battery, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Belushi went on to stardom before he was murdered by Cathy Smith.

Go Titans!

OxyBob

Before stardom, it's been reported Belushi attended UW-Whitewater, but did not graduate!!

Thanks Gazolly... As it turned out LR didn't practice yesterday... (funny he told me don't worry mom just going to tape it up tight and all will be ok!!) Turns out it was only LR's wishful thinking that he would practice.  No go until he's checked out and in working condition again!!  I knew that there had to be more to the story but it's hard to know what's really going on because he's living on campus and doesn't like to divulge all the info to us!!  Guess he thought that if he told the trainers he was ready they'd just say ok.  They have a great staff at Whittier and I know they wouldn't let LR or any player suit up if they didn't think they were ready...  Can't help but worry though... That's part of my job description ;D  So now LR just needs to be patient and heal  (You know how those kids are with waiting!!)
