Gray Fox

This is a sad day for the SCIAC football and basketball boards in particular and the d3 boards in general.

I only had the pleasure of meeting him once, and I hope that someday I will see him again.

He is not the first good poster I have seen chased away.  "diehardfan" is the other, although she lurks often and sometimes makes some rare posts under a new handle.

These boards lose their appeal when posters like these choose to leave voluntarily.

Bobs just on vacation. Probabily out golfing (with Tooth), surfing on his own, and getting ready to spew out who Mr. Ypsi really is, Who Klopen is, and lastly who I am. He'll come back on these board with a roaring surge to explain why he took time off. In the mean time, get some popcorn ready and some fried sagehen, cuz, this one is going to look great.

Maybe--but why then did he take so much time earlier today to delete every last one of his posts?

I couldn't agree with you more GF.  A majority of us (including myself) are just homers on this board.  Bob brought alot of insight to all teams.  I personally will miss him if he doesn't come back.

Well . . . until Oxy Bob comes back, from the Left Hand Valley Courier, "your news source for Niwot, Gunbarrel, South Longmont and Vicinity":

QuoteAndrew Reed (Niwot) is a freshman cornerback for the University of Redlands Bulldog football team.   After a strong start, Redlands came out on the short end of a 28-15 score against Occidental College, where Reed's high school teammate, Nick Saraceni, plays.  Redlands was ranked as high as 14th in the National Football Coaches Association (NFCA) poll before the loss to Occidental, which is now ranked 19th in the poll.  Saraceni returned one kickoff for nine yards for Occidental against Redlands. Reed will see another former Niwot teammate, Charles Sander, later in the month when Occidental plays Pomona-Pitzer.

Saraceni ran the second-half kickoff back 16 yards for Occidental to launch the team to a comeback win over Chapman University, 31-28.  After the teams exchanged touchdowns, Saraceni again gave Occidental good field position by returning the kickoff to the 40-yard line, leading to another score.  On the day, he had three returns for a total of 29 yards. Occidental is 6-0 on the season.

Sander had seven tackles, recovered a fumble and picked off a pass for Pomona-Pitzer in a 45-37 loss to the University of LaVerne.  Earlier, Sander had six tackles, including one for a loss against Cal Lutheran.  Pomona-Pitzer came out on the losing end of a 44-13 score.  He also had four tackles and a fumble recovery in a 17-3 loss to Chapman University. Sander is third on the team in tackles with 31 on the season, which is 15th best in the conference.

Oxy Bob, please come back so I am not stuck locating these obscure news sources!

The day that SCIAC posting died...

While flying over the great nothing that is Iowa, a plane crash killed SCIAC posters RFBuddy Holly, J.P. "The Big OxyBopper" Richardson, and Ritchie "Scandihoovian" Valens...

I ran out of references to SCIAC posters so I just threw Scandi in there, oh well.   :-\
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

So you are going to start in on the Iowa jokes now.  Watch out brother, we already ran one of your great ones off, we can do it again.

I guess all we can do is try to keep posting Oswald, until Bobs return. This is truely rare for him to do. All of his wits definately added a flavor to this board and kept it alive.

Fact of the matter is Iowa had an integral role in the deaths of Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens.

OxyBob did a real good job on the political boards p!ss!ing off the right wing folks.  He probably deleted himself.  If you go to your Profile there is an action on the left hand side that says Delete this Account.  I'm assuming the account is you.  Have never tried it myself but have been tempted to do it a couple of times.

First and foremost, I did not want Bob to delete himself.  Nor, did I ever think he would do it.  Something had to on behind the scenes.  I hardly think Bob would leave because of the one post scolding PC gave him.

I have been, and sometimes justifiably so, the target of Bob's, as you say wit.  However, there is a tremendous difference between wit and pure insult.  I have thick skin, I have tried to shake off some of the insults, I have tired to retort to some degree and I have tried to, based upon the advise of several posters, ignore OB.

My problem is that he just doesn't know when to quit.   I hope he comes back, and I hope he stays, "witty".  I also hope he stops with the personal insults.

If the prior posts are gone then he hit the D button.

Bummer deal, I enjoyed slingin it back and forth with Bob--and believe me we did some of that over time.

Peace out

I'm thinkin' OB jut needs some time for refreshing and recharging . . . he'll be back someday . . .

Not so much . . . I once yelled all night for the sun to come up . . . it did . . . do I get credit for that?

I'm guessing OB will continue to make personal appearances at local D3 sporting contests, especially Oxy events . . . and will come back to the board when he feels ready.
