Congrats to the Men in Orange and Black on their big win last night and in clinching both the 2008 SCIAC crown and a ticket to the big dance in mid-november.

On the other hand, since today is sunday, I look forward to this upcoming week. Although, the Tigers will be playing an up and coming Poet team that did not have a good season, this game will be another test for Oxy. One thing for sure, this game is a rivarly game that brings the best out in both teams. Secondly, its homecoming weekend/ a homecoming game. What better way then to celebrate the 08 SCIAC crown/ invite to the dance than partying with alumi, former players, staff and visiting parents (I still want my burger FTP.lol)  And lastly, well, its the battle for the SHOES. Enough said. The Tigers get the chance to reclaim the shoes from the Poets and finally allow them to be placed along side with the drum.  One thing for sure, the young Tigers will definately be learning a lot about this rivarly all week long. In the end, such history lesson and stories will sure get them ready for this rivarly game and future Oxy v.s Whitter Rivarly games in the future. Be on the look out for the Tiger Seniors and Co. in their quest to end the regular season and careers on a high note on Patterson field/.

.

we are not hard to find. I've been saving it for you for a few weeks. It's abit discolored, but should be good enough for who its for. :)

someone asked about LR. He did not suit up for CMS, but is determined to defend the shoes this saturday. If you asked the helicopter parents, we would prefer he sit out and save it for next year.

In a surprise move, niether LR or the coaching staff asked us for our thoughts. :) He'll see how practice goes this week and will be a gametime decision most likely.

thanks

FTP   Keep the faith, you won"t turn it arround in one year. What's the latest on LR?

We're trying!!  Believe me each week we go to the game thinking this could be the one!!   ;D  It's tough because last year we went 4-5 so you figure this year should be better!  We keep telling ourselves we have a young team.  We know next year will be better.
LR is doing better.  He didn't play this past saturday because his leg wasn't strong enough yet.  He did however inform FTP and I that he was playing this coming Saturday so it's going to be a Nail biter for me.  We'll see how it goes!!

FYI . . . be on the lookout for a segment on the Pomona-Pitzer vs. Oxy rivalry produced by KTLA.  It will be broadcast on their news shows this Saturday.  They filmed parts of the game, interviews with the coaches, players, fans (too bad OxyBob wasn't there to add some historical flavor) and even our tailgater (watch for the Airstream).

(too bad OxyBob wasn't there to add some historical flavor)

When I was a student I had a decal on my car which depicted Oswald the Tiger (complete with his jaunty atilt sailor cap) strangling a Pomona Sagehen with one paw, with little x's for its eyes and "Pomona" written across its dead, limp body. Now that Proposition 2 passed we have to give the Sagehens the opportunity to lie down, stand up, fully extend their limbs and turn around freely before Oxy kills them.
