Redlands... how could ya?  A pool C was there was the taking.

It happened. Highly doubtful they would have got in even with the other pool c losses.

RFB...they announced it at the end of the broadcast.

Yep, I just got back out of my car to drive to the Redlands - Cal Lutheran game in the Inland Empire but one cannot get from Orange County north, or northeast.
No Palm Springs, no Lake Arrowhead, No Las Vegas, no Soboba Indian Reservation, no Hell's Angels bar in San Berdoo.

                                            Don't smoke.

I was looking for you there Doc.  I thought you might have run into trouble with the 91.  Redlands really missed Selway !  A much different offense compared to what I saw with Selway at the Whitworth game early on.

Wow! What a game in Redlands.  Both teams showed a lot with their "D" with 11 total sacks.  Tough way to end a season (or career) for the UR guys.  Not sure if they would have had a shot, but all the upsets back East might have changed things around.  Great job Cal Lu, their 2 loses were to teams that both went undefeated.

Glad to hear that Redlands will open at home versus ETBU on September 12th 7pm!

That should be a good game!

East Texas? Did they announce that on the broadcast?
Yes, East Texas Baptist.  :)

They were a strong 5-5 this season, losses at SJU, at Azusa Pacific, at HSU and to LaCollege and UMHB at home.

That's where Andy Ankeny coached in various capacities from 2000-2006 until he became La Verne's head coach last year.

Great job Cal Lu, their 2 loses were to teams that both went undefeated.

Great job once again by the CLU defense. 5 turnovers weren't enough to get a win against Oxy, but 3 picks got it done today.

Sorry I wasn't able to get out to Oxy to see the Tigers' third 9-0 regular season in the last 4 years, but I was warned off this morning by the fire, smoke and related traffic. Oxy absolutely destroyed Whittier. The Tigers ran up 508 yards in total offense and held the Poets to only 99 total yards and 5 first downs. Jason Haller had 155 yards rushing and 3 TDs for Oxy, Justin Goltz was 11-for-16 passing for 138 yards and also ran for 65 yards and 2 TDs, and Kyle Kazarian ran one in for his first TD of the season.

Claremont beat Pomona 18-6. Nice job by the Stags to hold Jake Caron to only 144 passing yards.

OB -

Congrats on the undefeated season and the Pool A.  Will plan on meeting you and the SCIAC crew in the event of a Cal Lu/Oxy first round game in Eagle Rock if the Cal Lu Pool C rumor has any gas.

My Hobart team played ugly but got their Pool A as well.  Their reward is a possible meeting with MUC.  Oh joy!

OB, sorry you missed the game, hope the home is safe.  Met FTP and DAW . . . they look way too young to have a kid in college . . .

So . . . now we wait for tomorrow . . . . . about 16 hours from now we'll learn if the money on Oxy traveling to Willamette is on target . . . or if the NCAA will take an unpredictable turn.

At Oxy today . . . as clear a sky as you could want . . . didn't even smell smoke until after the final whistle.

Would love to see us host next week . . . but am already planning on making the trip up north . . . just haven't booked anything yet.

Io Triumphe!!

Tooth,
I'd love to see Oxy host next week, too. You guys deserve it.
Congratulations to the Tigers on your undefeated season. That's not easy.

They were in.  With Ithaca moving to pool A, and Montclair, RPI, Ham-Syd all going down, Redlands with 1 loss (to an undefeated team) would've been in ahead of the many 2 loss teams.  They were at least in the final 10 pool C options before Saturday.

And the flight issue is the same if two So Cal schools get in.  Someone else flies to Oregon. 1 flight.
Football is just the warm up.  Oxy is a rugby school anyway.

thanks..it was a pleasure meeting. For the record, I'm 40 and due to fear for my life, I must keep DAW's age out of this conversation.

Congrats to the Men in Orange and Black on their big win yesterday and in reclaiming the Shoes. Glad to see that not only did the Seniors end their regular season on a good note, but that the 2nds and 3rds were able to get some P.T. during mop-up time.

Sorry I missed you guys,, Tooth, Mr. and Mrs. FTP. I walked around asking for you tooth, but instead ran into Ben Affleck as expected. Or I think that was him??? Never got to see the Poet Parent's who wear #63 with pride.

For those of you near the areas of the Fires, please stay safe.  Go Tigers

They cancelled today's inaugural Pasadena Marathon (8,000 entrants) due to air quality.
