We will probably see Selway for three more years.

Good. He can become the first Redlands player to lose to Oxy 7 straight times.

Tooth, you're forgiven for that wimpy response, since I suppose Pat would have had to bleep your true feelings! ;D

Yup, my immediate reaction was a tad less measured . . . I've decided to try to live by the old lawyer's rule:  "Remember that anything you write could become Exhibit A" . . . it's an aspirational goal.
;)

snoop dawg

And here I thought it was a measured response from a kinder more gentle  Oxy nation ;)

Gazolly Gazump

From my understanding, Selway had two years of eligibility left at the beginning of this football season.  If he gets another "medical red shirt" for this season's new injury, does he still have two years left? -   As he is a senior now (seventh semester) could it be possible he plays for another two seasons?    ( Or....How many more losses to Oxy would that be then?)  ;)

snoop dawg

gg       I think you can only have one medical redshirt in d3.  He will have next year to play and try to break the streak OB so proudly refers to.

I think anyone remotely related to Oxy football is proud of that streak . . . it's sort of the opposite of the way things were back when I played (ok BrownEagle and OC63 . . . I've put it on the tee . . . go ahead and smack it out of here).
:D

S.T. : The SCIAC that you are so quick to defend doesn't have any real accountability built into its structure. For example, it might be a little known fact that Cal Lu violated recruiting rules last year. Did anything happen? No! No one seems to care. If Selway plays for two more years do you really think anyone is going to look into that.

Keep in mind, the SCIAC really doesn't seem to follow NCAA rules.
What depth of misunderstanding would cause you to make such an utterly ridiculous and inaccurate statement?

What is it about this board that attracts one BS artist after another?

URBulldog4Life: You are an embarrassment to the University of Redlands.

You anonymously come onto this board and baldly accuse Cal Lu of recruiting violations while failing to set forth any specific facts to support such an allegation?  Of course, you used good weasel language with "it might be a little known fact . . . " as in "it might be a little known fact that pigs can fly."

But I digress.

I would strongly suggest that you delete your post. You might save yourself a big headache should the general counsel for Cal Lu not take too kindly to your slander. Or maybe you're prepared to back up your claims?

The clear tenor of your posts was that the SCIAC in general, and Cal Lu specifically, violated NCAA recruiting rules.

Now you write:

QuoteST: You need to cool your jets. The post is not slander. This info was past on to me by a SCIAC coach and a friend that played at Cal Lu. Both of them told me the same story. It was addressed by SCIAC coaches and AD's but the punishment was not as harsh as it should have been. Mainly because the SCIAC does not have rules that punish teams for violating recruiting rules.

Which seems to suggest that the violations at issue were SCIAC rules and not NCAA rules.  Moreover, you write:

QuoteIt was addressed by SCIAC coaches and AD's but the punishment was not as harsh as it should have been

So you've gone from saying that the SCIAC and Cal Lu violate and disregard NCAA rules to now saying that whatever league rule was violated was actually addressed and resulted in a sanction . . . just not a harsh enough sanction.

QuoteGray Fox: Does 1,806 posts make you an expert? I'm simply giving my opinion. Just like everyone else on this message board. I have been and will always be a Bulldog.

GF has some credibility built up over time because he offers intelligent posts.  You have no such credibility.  Instead, you look like a jerk by engaging in hyperbole and misstatement.

QuoteIf you played in the SCIAC I'm sure you can remember a player or two that you couldn't figure out how they are still playing. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

I played in the SCIAC before you were born. I'm pretty confident that between the ADs and coaches, that players are limited to their alloted time . . . and if that was the "only point" you were trying to make . . . you failed.

QuoteI'm not trying to offend anyone.

Too late.  Recognize that you embarrassed yourself and your institution by association.  Try an apology and try to not make the same mistake twice.
