Here is the Kaz00 East Region Final top 10 (not publicly endorsed by AUPB):

1.   St. John Fisher
2.   Wilkes
3.   Springfield
4.   Rowan
5.   Union
6.   Hobart
7.   Cortland
8.   Alfred
9.   Delaware Valley
10. Rochester

I honestly think that Rowan was probably the seventh best team in the east this year except that their experience and a few lucky breaks helped them along when it mattered most, but it's hard to knock a team that reaches the region finals.  Union and Hobart was a toss-up and I went with the regular season result as the tie-breaker.

My apologies to RPI, Ithaca and Montclair who are probably interchangeable with the bottom 3.

Wow that stings Kaz... F-ing U of R?  Hope the Bombers are reading this.  Especially sad that U of R is the only program listed in the top 10 that I can legitimately argue we had a better year than...

Jose, I was really debating about the last 3 spots.  I obviously gave Alfred the #8 because I'm biased, but they also only lost to playoff teams and I couldn't put Ithaca or Rochester ahead due to head-to-head.  Del Valley should probably be 8, but they lost their bowl so I put them 9.  I wanted to put RPI 10, but couldn't put them over UofR who beat them.  And Montclair, while beating Rowan in OT was as about equal to Kean in my mind.  So, that left me with UofR and Ithaca for 10 and since Alfred had to go to OT with the Yellow Jackets I gave them the advantage over Ithaca.  Not perfect science and I didn't use all the same logic in ranking Rowan 4, but it's still fun to make these lists.

It hurt more to have a weak argument at best with the rankings.

Texas Roadhouse is on State Street --between the Mall (hotel area) and the Stadium--usually long lines though--They don't take reservations, but if you call them before you head down they will put you "in line" so your wait can be cut considerably--their phone # is 330-821-1755.  BTW all phone calls around here need to include the area code--even local calls.

Why not? Union beat UR and RPI beat Union. I take umbrance at this ranking, especially by using your logic then, if 'head to head' carries such weight. If that's the case, RPI should be ahead of Cortland and somewhere between Union and UR. RPI's quality of wins are higher than UR or even Cortland, in my opinion...

I used H2H and not laws of syllogism to determine my rankings, but I understand your point.  RPI can only play the games on their schedule when they are on their schedule and I'm not trying to take away anything from your bigs wins against Union and Cortland.  But, with that said, those two games were like Butch Coolidge against Wilson in Pulp Fiction - Union and Cortland just didn't lace up their gloves and you left them bloody and dead.  Additionally, my rankings didn't attempt to convolute the conference rankings, but rather kept the final standings and organized the teams within those confines.

Thanks Aprof- Do you think we would be better off at a place like Polinoris with a fairly large number of people

There was a request on our board for recommended directions--here's my take:

I-90 W to I-79 S to I-80 W (which turns into I-76 once you get a little way into Ohio--I-80 turns into the Ohio Turnpike)

I-76 to 225 south (exit from I-76 marked "Alliance")  225 goes south and merges with 14 then almost immediately splits off at Deerfield Circle--225 is the turn-off 1/4 of the way around the circle--it will be marked 225 south and 224 west)--travel a couple of miles til you get to a flashing signal right by Starlite roller skating rink--follow 225 south (left turn at the light)

This will bring you right into Alliance on Union Ave (not the best part of town, but you get through it quickly)--follow Union Ave south (to just past the college) to State Street (US 62)--turn right and you will be headed out to the hotels and commercial district.

The stadium can be accessed from State Street--you will probably see the lights.

An slightly altered route would be to take I-90 all the way into Ohio and then take US 11 south to I-80--not a bad route, but there is nothing along that stretch of US 11--no gas--no eats--one funky rest stop with bathrooms is about it.

Maybe--depends on how large a number--Polinori's is pretty popular with the Alliance locals and is pretty small--I think that for a group of 20 or more you would be better off at Don Pancho's (unless Mexican is a real turn off for the group--they do have American food as well)  Pancho's has a big side room that they let large groups use for no charge.  If you call (330-823-4390) a day or so ahead of time they will set it up for you--they let everyone order off the regular menu, are good about individual checks,  and are very generous with the chips and salsa.  Try the green salsa--it is very good!

BTW--it's thea prof not the a prof--I'm much more difficult than that!
