Good Morning AUPepBand,
any scuttlebutt on campus on who we may be playing??
ECAC #1 seed Alfred (8-2) will host #6 Maine Maritime (7-2) at 12 noon Saturday at Merrill Field
I believe:
ECAC #2 seed Bridgewater (8-1) will host #5 Fitchburg (8-2)
and
ECAC #3 SJ Fisher (8-2) will host #4 RPI (7-2)

GO SAXONS!

Are you sure about these?  Maine Maritime would have to fly to Alfred.

Jonny Utah

nah they could drive.......it would be a long one though.

RPI vs. SJF this saturday.

Will fisher prove that it is a top NY team or will the engineers take them behind the woodshed like the old days?

lumpy

As much as i hate to say it i wont be able to make it!  I will be going to Rowan if/when we get past Union.  We should have lots of Bombers at the game.  We had a great turnout at RPI a few years back.

Go Bombers.

Time to Play like we want to win... for all 4 quarters.

Pat, so you are saying YOU KNOW FOR SURE, that Cortland's bid was one of the Pool C bids that was added?  Were you on the conference call?

If you definitely know, then please accept my apologies for not knowing the FAQ and NCAA Regional Committees to the extent that I should.

I was not on the conference call but I can look at the criteria and see not just three, but FOUR Pool C teams with better numbers than Cortland.

Cortland was our last team in out of six we got correct. Even if the committee had them two spots higher it would still be part of the four-team expansion.

You shouldn't have to read the FAQ to know that the playoffs expanding means more teams get in. Come on now.

Pat, I know that the playoffs were expanding.  However, it isn't hard for me to fathom the possibility that the ranking committees viewed Cortland as one of those top 4 teams.  Not when the East is a #2 seed, and as a #5 seed in the East, are at or above 5 of the remaining Pool C teams and their seeding #s.  They are tied as a #5 seed by Capital, but the East has a better seeding than the North, so I am guessing ( ???) that counts for something.  I didn't have this information when I made the original post, but I think it only strengthens the opinion.

Again, my only point of the post was to point out the situation, which other people may not be aware of (and voice my opinion as a somewhat bitter IC fan, though I probably should have gotten over last year, last year).  It was not to argue whether I knew the FAQs about the playoff system on the Front Page.

Ok, nothing can be done now, so I won't take this any further and continue my conspiracy outbursts.

On a different, albeit somewhat related, note - Pat, can I have your comments on the East being seeded #2 in the Regions?  That comes as a surprise, no?

Thanks, FisherAlum91...good luck Saturday, do the E8 proud and take out your frustrations on RPI. I'm thinking their defense won't be equal to what was seen at Growney Saterday.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
