Truth, you a Gator fan?

chris7sarge

Why hello.  And in the words of Austin Powers "How's your father?"
My computer does not allow me to translate the British accent nor the humor.
Couple of thoughts
College first
How does Georgia Tech score 6 points against Wake and 10-14 against Georgia the week before, lose its starting qb for the last 4 yrs and then all of a sudden put up 35, just enough to screw me in several high money bets to lose by three (a push, which is a loss in a tease) just enough to screw me against West Virginia?  Ne one?
At least I smartened up and bet against my favorite (ND) because money is thicker than a faded middle school dream of running out the tunnel like Rudy.
Ohio St. wins, but closer than expected (using logic that includes Michigan)

NFL
Lomas Brown was good at blocking huge men, not giving analysis on games, or for that matter talking in public.  I've seen people with speech impediments talk better in front of stadiums.
On that logic- Colts, Pats, Eagles (that hurts), and Seahawks (cuz I hate the cowboys and everyone that wanted to "annoint" Romo in the words of Parcells)

As for the good stuff- D3 football

Truth- I hope I misread your comment, field hockey won't allow synthetic turf (Springfield) because they want a faster surface?  Unless something astronomical happened in the past few years- THEY ARE GIRLS!  Fast?  That's a joke right?

I have been following the pages but not as regularly as previous to the Xmas break that teachers get.  I saw, however, that a lot (2 words) of colleges were updating there facilities.  It was rather impressive.  I can speak on the behalf of several of those mentioned.
Hobart-  Very nice.  Not necessarily the fball field but overall gives a feeling that they are really trying to lure athletes. (not big on the grass or the huge crown of the field)

SLU- Facilities are unreal.  Second to none.  The fball stadium, soccer stadium, field house (with indoor rock climbing wall ?!?!) and weight room are unbelievable.  With that said- they still suck and I hope the place burns to the ground.

AU-  No need to worry about us.  I have been in contact with AUpepband and have been trying to talk him into a generous donation.  He told me that he is unwilling because it would cut into his kazoo funding.  Still, I have decided to make a large contribution in my name (which undoubtedly would piss some people off) in the realm of about $15 million.  I have made it clear that this money would only be given if it would directly benefit the athletic facilities of AU.  Otherwise I will be off to catch a plane (and probably something else) with Paris Hilton.  By the way, I am an 8th grade teacher and my parents were both teachers.  The check is in the mail!

Strong, strong consensus for Ohio State, they are expected to win........that means "Danger, Will Robinson!" I'm thinking the 8 may be a sucker bet
plus remember the Heisman jinx....and no, I am not a gator fan.

The Truth 00

chairman - not a florida fan but i can't stand ohio state. i think tressel is a cheat and that whole athletic program is shady. hell, their golf team has been put on probation. i like urban meyer and his offensive scheme. plus, there's a guy from CT who is going there next year to play TE. he'll be in the high school all-star game today...look him up: aaron hernandez. he's the top TE prospect in the country.

sarge - by faster surface, i mean in terms of field hockey balls. balls roll faster on artificial surfaces (especially at benedum - its pure concrete) than on grass. it benefits teams who are better at passing and controlling the ball. that's the most i'm going to comment on such a crappy sport on this board. i'm sorry everyone for wasting three sentences.

Truth,
no need to aplologize-there are crappier sports. Am embarrassed to admit that UC has a women's water polo team.
Don't think it should even qualify as a "sport." more of a game one would play at a pool party.

I would have to go back, but I think there was one year facing Division I schools that the team went 1-19 or 0-20 or something horrendous like that... A friend of mine was on the team though.

"The Big Guy" said to take Seattle -1.5 tonight.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

AU Pep Band's meager band budget, due to some "computer error" was found to be in the red to begin 2006-07; alas, the snafu was discovered, the funds restored, the band sold pep bandanas and the band played on! Truth be told, the band is saving its funds for travel costs connected with the Saxons' NCAA playoff run in '07....gas for the AU Pep Bandwagon.

Pep can see it in big letters: "Sarge's House" on AU's new field house complete with the McClain Climbing Wall (installed with a special gift from AUKaz00); the DuBreuil Indoor Track; Murray Tennis Complex; Late Nite Ballers Courts; and the Brenton Brady Weight Room (donated by Brady who signs a huge contract with the Bills).

Sarge: As for the middle school dream of running out the tunnel like Rudy, AUPepBand's been there and done that. But that's another post altogether.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Do you think the Big Tuna is pissed?

The Truth 00

the tuna has to be furious...who knows if romo will even be the starter next year. better question: whatever happened to extra points being guaranteed???  holy crap, i felt like i was watching the sc/utica game circa 2005 when the sc holder dropped the snap for the game tying PAT.  which brings me to this: i hope sc coaches are recruiting a damn kicker because last year was awful.

i thought all along the seahawks were going to win. the cowboys collapsed down the stretch badly and i think parcells will retire after this game. he looked like he was about to die on the sidelines.

frank uible

Extra points have never been guaranteed. On December 24, 1950 the Cleveland Browns, a team which at that time usually played with great precision, nearly lost the NFL championship game to the Los Angeles Rams on a botched extra point snap/hold, albeit in the normally nasty, freezing December Cleveland weather blowing into Cleveland Municipal Stadium from immediately adjacent Lake Erie. Almost nobody remembers that failed extra point try because messers Graham, Motley and Groza (3 pro HOFers) with lots of help from teammates pulled the game out with a late field long drive and last minute field goal, 30-28.

With many of the e8 nation not able to get to Butterfield on the day of Fisher/IC, what do we do now Mr. Chair?
Keep the meeting- or move it online?

I think we'll have a quorum for Fisher-IC, especially after last season.  All those that cannot be in attendance will be sorely missed.  Perhaps in subsequent seasons we can move the location to other games (except Norwich, sorry PG04).

Hmph!  I think it would take much more of an effort to get me to go to Norwich than a SJF/IC game anyway haha.  Maybe if the E8 becomes a true cross section of the NY teams ... OK that won't happen but it's nice to pretend.

Randomly checking in my E8 Nation brothers.  Hope all is going well

Booby out!

Breaking News:

The Giants contacted Rob Kramer during halftime of tonight's game to try and convince him to come out early & suit up for the 2nd half vs. the Eagles.

Wow Manning is bad ... Hope all is well within the E8 Nation.

chris7sarge

Romo will definately start next year!  Man you guys are tough.  Coaches like winning and their families livelihood more than they care about grudges (someone google "SABAN").
Except if your name is TO.

Another note: Jackie Smith's drop versus the Steelers, Norwood vs. the Giants, Leon Lett's fumble with Don Beebe (although didn't cost them the game) and Eugene Robinson soliciting an undercover cop the night before the super bowl that he went on to get torched for 2 td's are all much worse than Romo.  I hate Dallas but he has a long career ahead of him.

I still hate/love the Giants
and
Watch "children of men".  I thought it was pretty good and the cinematography was great.
Did you know the virgin mary in "the nativity" is a pregnant teen ager?  I love irony.  'Scuse me, hell is here.
