It's not $150, but Pep will happily hand out some + karma to E8 posters.

Re: Lost Money---------Learn a lesson and turn the page. Life is short.

AUPepBand

AUPepBand has learned that there is a reason why those who appear to have lots of money actually do. They tend to hold on tight. Either Pep is of the mind that one "can't take it with you" or Pep has a deeply-rooted subconscious hatred for money. Pep has been known to occasionally pay a bridge toll for the stranger in the vehicle behind him just for the fun of seeing them arguing with the tollbooth attendant in Pep's rear view mirror.

pep I agree...that money is money...and it's not the end of the world...but 150 is a lot of money for someone who doesn;t have a lot

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

The Truth 00

her parents are loaded....like 3 houses, one just bought in newport, rhode island. i think the cash can be ponied up.

super - just do everyone a favor and don't defend wes. even if CT was wrong, that guy wes is a bigtime loser. i haven't watched the show this year and stopped watching all the real world stuff a few years back  but i went on mtv.com and looked him up to see what all the fuss was about. i realized he is that jackass from austin that i stopped watching the show because of.

which brings me to another question: how is that show still making it (the real world)? i can understand those challenges...its just a bunch of drunks competing/fighting and hooking up...but i feel like the real world is the same thing over and over. there's always an angry black dude, a white fudgepacker, a girl who is hot but has a boyfriend until she cheats on him, a raging alcoholic, an unhot girl that you start to think is hot because she's on tv, etc. by the way, the hottest girl by far was that blonde from san diego (the one without the implants) but i forgot her name.

the responses to these situations are what makes my day go by. LLPP, jump in.

the blonde from SD is Cameron...she came to fisher...only time an event sold out

The answer is in the very nature of Cable/Satellite TV. There are so many channels on that a show can attract only a tiny audience and still have sponsors. Next, these shows have miniscule production costs. and remember HL Mencken: "No one ever went broke underestimating the tast of the American public"

realistic

Actually, these shows do very good numbers and garner some of the highest rates in cable (as long as the advertisers don't hit list it)

Thats why the nets like VH1 and MTV keep coming up with more trash.  Due up this spring is a reality show that follows Tom Sizemore's life.

But turning back to the topic of football... AU's football coaching staff is back on campus after extended travels on the recruiting road.

The coaches have made contact with a good crop of prospects. In addition, a few new faces attended a recent team meeting and Pep has heard reports of some promising transfer prospects. Pep looks forward to the Feb. 17 team banquet. Saxons will play an identical 2007 schedule to that of 2006, with home/away flip flopped.

Likewise, Pep has contacted a trombone player and alto sax player from nearby Andover, a small town with an outstanding marching band program. The two more than likely will hop on the AU Pep Bandwagon. In addition, AUKaz00 will be laying aside the kazoo and picking up his old clarinet. 'Tis a great time to be a Saxon!

I heard there is going to be a reality show starring AUPep. Any truth to that rumor?

Interesting that this is coming up on the boards.  I talked about this in one of my social studies classes earlier this year.  The reactions of the kids were amazing.
Demographics: I teach at a school that is about 50% black, 30%white, 15% hispanic, 5% other.  Their is a wide variety of economic backgrounds but mostly dead on middle class.
I read to them an article, by a black man (mentioned that to them), that ripped VH1 for the show Flavor of Love, where washup rapper, extremely short, skinny, and ugly Flavor Flav picks a companion from a group of around 30 that are predominantly black.
I asked the kids their thoughts on the topic, if it was degrating to women, blacks, and especially black women.  The overwhelming majority of these 8th graders said that it was not degrating because they chose to go on it, white women were on it, and it is just the culture.  Now there were some that thought the exact opposite (in fact one smart black girl ripped into my most obnoxious black male and destroyed him, great to sit back and watch).  But the point is, not only were they ALL watching this trash, but they thought that this was normal interaction between males and females.
I used to hate those that blamed many of our problems on heavy metal and rap music, but i think there is something to be said for this theory of thought.  I think that there are those that cannot separate reality from fantasy, and to them, the music and its message are real.  Sad.
As pep can attest, I'm no angel, so don't start to think i'm this right wing fanatic that hangs out with Tipper Gore.  But what happened to music and tv with an underlying theme and suddle hints.  We went from marvin gaye to Laffy Taffy.  Did you know that the Sopranos is on cable now?
My (andy) rant(s) is over.

That's the first Pep has heard of such a thing. Let's be realistic, the Truth is, Pep is no Superman, and while he's sometimes Spiedie, he looks more like The Great Pumpkin and he's gonna have to 'gro up or get a Lyco-suction because his booby regulator has been recalled by the chessdoc, not to mention the tecmobowler tags Jonny Utah attached as an addendum that would not meet Sarge's approval nor that of the budcrew. If Frank is Uible, perhaps he could explain the whereabouts of one missing Chairman JoseQViper on these boards as he hasn't posted since pg04....(or AUKaz00)!

Sarge:
Pep has no evidence to the contrary....but what happened up north that you were banned from the St. Lawrence University campus? Could your arson-ic hints (hoping the place will burn down) have anything to do with it?

Sarge what years were you at SLU? I think I've played against you one year inbetween 98-01. The next year we were like, hey... where's #7?

it's early in the year, but I think that has to get nominated for post of the year.

Nice work Pep.

it is truly interesting Sarge.  I work for a company that sells cable and when the reps come in to present the new programming, some people I work for think it is going to be bad (ratings and $$ wise) and these shows clean up.  It amazes me more that these shows make Springer look like Sesame Street.
