Sir Spiedie

Yes the cold spell is over. There was a light dusting of frost on the roof Tuesday, the first frost of the year. ::)

Sir Spiedie

Of course, the boys are all back in the weight room, and many of them are running on their own time, spring football being just around the corner.

so what is everybody's opinion on the E8 for this upcoming season?  Its been a while since ive posted so i wanted to see what people are thinking.  I figure it will look something like this:

1.  Fisher
2.  Springfield
3.  Ithaca
4.  Alfred
5.  Hartwick
6.  Utica
7.  Norwich

I really like Fisher to repeat again this season but it won't be easy.  They lose only a handful of players but that includes Lang and Robinson. Not too sure about the bottom 3 teams in the conference but i figured hartwick has boltus returning at QB.

Fisher has to play at Buttefield with a rookie QB.

Not only that, but Chris Sharpe from Springfield, record-setting QB, returns for his senior season as well.

1. IC/SC
2. IC/SC
3. Alfred (I think Keeley is that good)
4. Fisher (Hard to replace a QB and RB and Defense)
5. Utica
6. Hartwick/Norwich
7. Hartwick/Norwich

I am not sure about the IC/SC game.  Sharpe is awesome and the game is on that track in Massachussetts.  But Welch is the DeLong-stopper and the Bombers bring almost the entire defense back (with the exception of Blumenauer).

Having Fisher 4th isn't as much of a slight as it looks like.  AU gets Keeley back (and maybe Newsome?).  From this distance Fisher will be out of the race by the time they travel to SC and to IC with rookies in key spots.  I am thinking a possible letdown combined with Keeley back in his hometown gives AU the upset shot on the road.

I didn't pick between Norwich and Hartwick because, well, I couldn't care less who finishes ahead of who in that one.

P.S. Check out the E8 hoop board.  They are all at each other's throats.  The Chairman just got smited for speaking in the third person over there.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Fellas - we're really feeling sorry for you guys.  What was "cold" 50?

I think it was in the 30s on Monday Night/Tuesday Morning.  But don't worry.  I am going to Akron next week and the forcast is in the teens all week with snow.

It really was like 30 or 40.  That is brutal for Florida.  Much like kirasdad, I only visit the cold weather.  That is why I ran into him in Uno Pizzeria in Chicago.

I would have thought that 4 years atop the hill in Ithaca would have hardened you up a bit more than that jose....we may have to revoke the Chairmanship.

I'll take the seasons up here....besides, after a year in Minnesota, nothing NY can throw at me is cold.

Havent posted in a while and noticed that some were talking about the weather.  How bout this, I grew up in Ogdensburg, New York.  Where the women are men and the sheep run scared.  It was -26 without the windchill the other day and they had school.  Today I have lounged around all day in sweatpants doing my best Al Bundy, about elbow deep in my pants and eating Chunky soup all day with a yawning dog because school was cancelled LAST NIGHT because there was a warning of a possibility of 1-2 inches of snow accumulation.  Pansies, gotta love em.  Its a far cry from those of us north country boys puking up still living minnows as initiation into the ice fishing fraternity.

It did toughen me up.  My first winter in Tallahassee I was never cold.  But it has been four years since I lived on the hill (wow, that looks weird in print, four years? how can that be?) and have reacclimated to Florida weather down here in Tampa.  I mean, it is 75 and sunny today.  Spring is already here.

true enough....I got the flyer for the 5-year reunion and thought that was crazy.  We have a solid 2 months before we can even think of spring.  At least I have a trip to Aruba in the middle.  Enjoy your 70's.

People in Tampa are afraid to drive when it rains.  Bunch of Blue Haired/White Knucklers...
