Hey Pep - after yet another online recruitment effort on your part, I have to ask.... how is it that you do not work in the admissions, PR, information or something Department of AU?

AUPepBand

Pep applied for the SID job several years back....and was nearly hired half-time but they couldn't come up with the extra funds. Since then, there have been further cutbacks on campus in an effort to balance the operating budget. In fact, when Pep started at the library in July 2000, there was a staff of 17 that is currently down to 12, soon to be 11.

Pep is happy connecting puzzled patrons with books/information they need. By working at the library, Pep is able to work three evenings a week, providing daytime hours to carry on the business of publishing a weekly newspaper. As assistant to the AU archivist, Pep has provided research support for AU's Communications Department and hopes to develop a more useful athletic archive and perhaps archive AU's old football game films.

To answer your question more directly, AUPepBand has grown up with a love for this institution and does not feel obligated to stay within the parameters of Pep's job description. Pep's supervisor understands that and, adopting a similar approach to her work, welcomes it.

real, while I agree with the fact that I think the numbers are skewed...remember you were away for the two biggest games of the year that produce your best attendance numbers Fisher and Cortaca

Cortaca skews the numbers some but I don't think Fisher brings any bigger crowd than any other home game at Butterfield.  The only thing that thins the "regular" crowd appears to be weather.

BOMBER 2007 schedule......Look who visits for the second home game.....no problem with the home crowd that game!

Mr. Napoleone:
Pep's "snowblower" is a $7 plastic hand-powered model from Dollar General...which Pep broke down and purchased just three weeks ago. (Was hoping to postpone that purchase 'til Winter '08) Since Punxsutawney Phil and Alfred Station Al did NOT see their shadows, spring is just around the corner...

AU Pep Band, traditionally a guest at the AU Football Banquet, this year will play for their supper, being asked to strike up the fight song before the highlight film. On Saxon Warriors!!

The Chairman is already looking at flights and hotels for the first ever E8Nation Tailgate party.  At this point, looks like the Chairman will be on South Hill for two ballgames this fall.  That is sweet.  (The Chairman also realizes that he would be wise to book and pay for his honeymoon before booking Bomber Footaball trips).

Sir Spiedie

Local paper today reports 6 feet of snow in Oswego---that's a manly amount of snow.
PeP I can still see King Al on the PeP Cam ---so all is not lost!

Sir Spiedie

Chairman, we can not complain about the weather, can we? What, about 75 today and not a cloud in the sky? We'll get ours starting in June, though.

I am in chilly OH this week, but heading home to NPR, FL in a couple of hours so I can defrost...   :D

It's still damn cold here in NYC today....but since we have barely seen a half an inch of snow so far I am not complaining.

Enjoy your 70's fellas.  I am counting the days 'til Aruba.

Chairman - I thought one of the trips to the South Hill would be the Honeymoon?  Did soon to be Mrs Chairman nix the honeymoon trips to Benchwarmers and Moonshadows?

I was overzealous and tried to get the wedding reception at Moonshadows, once that got shot down I couldn't fall back to the honemoon.

Spiede, the weather is wonderful, I think we should play some golf in honor of our boys buried in the white stuff.

Yeah, sorry, Spiedie, the Pep Groundhog Day appearance around King Alfred didn't materialize as Pep stayed in his hole that morning.

Alfred has not had the heavy snowfall experienced in Oswego and Oneida Counties. Just a dusting every couple days during this cold snap.

randomness:

-did you guys mention attendance for homecoming?  i don't think its just because of fisher and cortaca...homecoming games always draw people.

-fisher's new unis are pretty sharp. now if only sc would pony up some cash and get rid of their cheap stuff.

-pep, keep up writing your long posts. they always grab my attention.

-winter in southern new england has been an absolute joke this year. we've had about 2 inches of snow so far...its been brutally cold though

**i'm sorry i haven't been on quite as often. i've been swamped at work and plus, they cracked down on the internet all throughout our building. if anything with sports or entertainment is involved, i get blocked out. i really want to give the IT guys a knuckle sandwich...

I have to say I am not the biggest fan of the new Fisher uniforms. I am a fan of tradition and that. IC has had pretty similar uniforms since I have been following them. I like that kind of thing.
GO FISHER!!!
