Beaver spotted in NYC?
Sir Spiedie is not making this stuff up, but does note that thiw so-called beaver may be one of the resident rodents at the aforementioned KFC going for a swim.http://www.wtopnews.com/index.php?nid=456&sid=1070190

Now boys, we all know how easy it is to pick low hanging fruit, therefore, "tastes like chicken" jokes are discouraged. Exert yourselves.

Here's everything you ever wanted to know about the varmints...of little to no value for vittles. Perhaps a prodigiously opportunistic profiteer could open a pet store next door....Rats R Us!  :)

Ordered a copy of Lois Butterfield's book last night. Hope it arrives before the trip; will probably make good reading for the bus ride. Any IC fans read it? Reviews?
Was It Fun?  :D

I read it Pep.  It was an easy read and I enjoyed it.  A very tragic end however.  The only thing I didn't like is, she doesn't use any of the players' names.  Not sure if she was concerned about royalties or she just doesn't remember (never knew) the names.  Having worked in Sports Info and gone through the football history I could identify the players but it can be a bit troubling.  My future father in law read it and now wants to come to a Bomber game at Butterfield.  That could be as much due to the fact that Butts was a Gator Football player as anything else.

Has the Chairman set a date? Will impending marriage jeopardize JoseQ's ability to lead the E8 Nation? Does the future Mrs. Q know of the Chairman's mob boss status with this D3 mafia? E8 Nation wants to know...

BTW, Ithaca Books has shipped Lois' book....should I get it in the next five business days, I'll have a good read for the March 3-4 bus trip to Deland.  :)

E8Nation will gain a first lady July 28, 2007.  As realistic alluded to in a previous post, said First Lady has already shot down any possibility that the honeymoon will be in the Southern Tier so the Chairman can take in some of the Bombers camp.  Nevertheless, the Chairman has already blocked out the dates on his calendar for the inaugural E8 Tailgate Party and for The Biggest Little Game.  The E8's First Lady will most likely be in attendance for The Biggest Little Game...

Just dropped in to say hello to my  E8 brethren........Winter has shined on South Hill again!
Congrats to the Elmira Lady Eagles & Our Lady Bombers basketball teams....very entertaining E8 Championship game yesterday at Elmira.....and the Bombers captured another E8 Title!!!

Senior leadership and an amazing cast of underclasswomen assure the future is bright !!!

Next Stop NCAA's.........Cortland........Cortland..........Cortland........You  _ _ _ _ !

Playin "D" and shootin the threeeeeee!!!

We now return to your regularly scheduled Empire 8 Football banter........
"We bust ours so we can beat yours..."

Memo to E8ers and LLers----Hang in there. Today is the first day of Spring Training here in Lakeland, Fl. Home of the Sometimes Good, Sometimes Bad, But Always Entertaining Detroit Tigers! Ten or so miles  away is Winter Haven, home to the Clevleand Indians. As I recall, March in the Empire State is a month noted for its grayness and mud. Omnipresent mud. But March is followed by sweet April!

Chairman Jose---Will you be taking in a Yankees game?

'gro

ahh lakeland, that's where we'd go for the classic 2 hour lunch hour when gro worked in plant city.

I have already spent a few days hanging around Rays camp.  I usually catch a Yankee game or two but, get better access with the Rays since I worked in PR there for 7 seasons.

Gro, you worked in Plant City? That is a tough beat.  I thought RPI degrees got you jobs in cool places.  What's up with that?

it's not like I lived in plant city, I lived in Tampa (new tampa area), which is a pretty cool town wouldn't you agree? It also meant I was always going against the rush hour flow.  In retrospect I should of lived in Brandon for quicker access to work and play.

At least you lived in Tampa.  I was worried for a moment that all those RPI recruiting brochures were leading people astray...

Sir Spiedie

Plant City, home of the Strawberry Festival, Buddy Freddys, the Branch Ranch (don't know if those two fine eateries are around anymore), and Championship High School football! Plant City is OK.
PS ----named after Henry Plant, railroad tycoon, as were a lot of other Florida cities.

JQV

Buddy Freddys and Branch Ranch are two redeeming qualities, I will give you that.  The worst thing about Plant City High School is everyone confuses it with Plant High School, which counts the Chairman among its distinguished alumni.  I hate when people think I am from Plant City.

GRO: Did these 2 hour+ lunches include 1.5 hours at the spring training game for brats, a beer, and some skin (bikini clad girls in the crowd)???

Sox vs. my Twins tomorrow night is the opener in Ft. Myers.  Early word is Schilling versus Matt Garza.
Chasing MILFs since '82...

realistic

speaking of the Tampa area...it looks like IC was down there recently.
