speaking of the Tampa area...it looks like IC was down there recently.

some people get all decked out to rub elbows with the new dean.

(bored at work and hit up the Alumni IC website)

The Chairman and the Future First Lady of E8Nation are pictured.

The Chairman came straight from work.

The Chairman was whispering in his ear about playing in that cathedral of college football known as Butterfield Stadium but he didn't want to go that far from home.

Amen.....but I've got only about 40 hours before I head out to Aruba for 6 days.  I will be in the sun soon enough and I can't wait.

Spiede is here, the Chairman is here, I think we should form the E8Nation Kickoff Classic in a Florida location.  First FB game of the season in the sunshine of Florida.  Pep can build a stadium if need be...

interesting idea...it would have to be your pull in the Athletic Department (if any) to get it going.

That makes me think though, how many Floridians and/or kids from down South has IC had play sports over the years?

I can think of Kittenplom and Teddy Sullivan from Florida....anyone else?

Tripp Vitto comes to mind as does Brian Johnson (though I am not so sure about Johnson).

Don't forget about Kameron the Kegerator Muhammed from Hot Springs, Arkansas who was recruited for IC Football by his dentist.

Sir Spiedie

OOOOO, serious blood drawn on Wall Street
As to the Kickoff, count me in.

Sir Spiedie

Actually, wouldn't it make more sense to have the last game of the season here. At Raymond James. (Heck, they play pee-wee championships there!)

Sir Spiedie

Another venue could be the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Schedule around UCF, added attraction of Disneyworld. Direct flights from Albany, Syracuse, Rochester. Easy peasey, lemon squeezy.

That actually raises an interesting question.  I wonder if any D3 Conferences play a Conference Championship game in Football like D1.  My guess is none do since I have never seen it mentioned on the site and it would add the expense of another game.

Pat can you help us out on this one if you are lurking?

right in the east the NEFC plays a 10 game schedule and a conference championship game (insert PC sarcasm here)

edit: there are 2 divisions w/ 8 teams each. Former LL doormat coast guard went to the NEFC championship game in their 1st year.

have we been posting on here too long when we can anticipate PC's sarcasm?

That would explain why I have not heard about said Championship game.  Whenever I see the letters NEFC on D3Football I read them to mean "you may skip this section and begin reading again when you see something related to a conference with a team that has won a playoff game."
