Second one deals with the troubles Huntingdon had with the 3-4, which they admit they didnt prepare for.  Some credit to the folks on here, as well as Cornell apparently, who kept that switch hush hush.

Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

congrats to Fisher on the win,
yet i think he has a good point with the QB sit...
Granted 1st game and all...still not as comfortable as usual...ER1948- congrats to you and yours on a solid game---
Any thoughts?

Hope to meet ya if you get Utica way..

Rowdy Rowdy Bomber

nice way to start the season.  glad the rain finally stopped in the 2nd half. I wish i could smite you Ernesto! -4800 Karma for you.  quite the crowd of fresh faces for the bombers .. and surprisingly a good number of 'bama fans as well.  you know you're big time when you get good numbers from that far away.  kudos to the FDC and 12th Man Crew down in front for the support-

#7 Jameson, welcome... welcome to Butterfield... we know your number.

Juvan.  thank you.  just keep it up.  D, most impressive hits you fellas had.  i think those hawks went home pretty sore.   Bk.  yeh yeh.. congrats on 30 and the record... but you still missed a kick.    i am keeping a tally.  you best thank your defense for stopping Huntingdon offense and giving you plenty of cushion for missing that shot.  you're not gonna get any more freebies like that against Fisher, Cortland, Union, Mount Union...   all in all, a good weekend.

er1948

Fishalum91-- Kings game was a hard one to really measure too much-weather was horrible, rain and wind made throwing the football tough-really think they miss Noah already, but the wr's will be OK in the long run-both backs looked good, and the run D was impressive- we will be at Utica, like to meet you too

fisheralum91

weather had to be a factor!
ernesto made the holiday wknd a washout...
missing NF is a given, will just take time to get the offense on the same page.

Ill miss my 15th reunion wknd but hope to see the UC game.

ER- all the best.

Booby mentioned something about having Reile at WR, i dont know if they had him out there this weekend or not.  But it would be a good idea to have him out there and run that Bubble WR screen to him a few times a game and get him in space vs CB's and S's....

Robby and Reile will get their yards this season (heck they both may get 1,000 this year), but they need some plays from the WR's and TE's to keep some pressure off of Robby and Reile.

I know the weather didnt help Sooch at all, but it looked as though he did ok considering.

It will be interesting to watch this weeks game vs UofR with Foster going over there.  This game is going to be a close one!

AUPepBand

When AUPepBand saw the coaching changes at UR this summer, AUPepBand said to self, "Dang, dem Yellowjackets are getting ready to sting." Fisher may have its hands full. Planning to make the trip to Ra cha cha after the Saxon-Tomcat brawl on Merrill Field....

GO SAXONS!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

ahhh, back at work and able to check the boards again.

so, some notes on the Bombers. I was happy with the way that Juvan used Donovan/Bias/Davis for his check down recievers.  After having all day to pass in that pocket he was able to realize nothing was downfield, DID NOT FORCE ANYTHING, and used the backs.  That was the most impressive thing I felt he did on the day. For being a rookie I feel this is a huge accomplishment.  Using those guys will make him a %54 passer with 4000 career yards as opposed to %44 with 3200.

WR's: Hogan ,well played.  Gordon did what he was expected to do.  Heenehan had a GREAT grab for his first career touchdown.
compared to huntingdon the bombers looked to be able to spread the ball around the field.  The hawks had their one guy Colwin.

OL: great job boys! Juvan will thank you after he throws for 2000 yds this year.

RBs: three headed monster indeed.

CB's:  played like they were 6'4".

LB's/DL: I LOVE THE NEW DEFENSE!

GO BOMBERS!

P.S.  quick thanks to Mr. N, Lumpy, Mrs. BAM BAM, Mr. Gordon and friends, and the Booga fam, for the hospitality at the tail gate.

Congrats to Fisher on stomping Kings.  U of R game will be tougher but I think Fisher still has the advantage.  Stingy Fisher defense should limit the U of R offense to 21 points or less.  This will be plenty since the R & R express should have a field day like last season.  U of R defense has been down in the past few seasons and will have trouble slowing them down.  My prediction:

Fisher 35  UR 14

Who does Ithaca have this weekend??  Any predictions there??

Bombers host Buff State Saturday.

Does anyone know much about them?  All I really know is we smoked them at their place last year and they graduated a three year starter at QB...

Butterfield is a tough place to play for a rookie QB ('Port fans, insert Darnley argument here...be sure to mention the "darts" he was throwing all over the field.)

Bomberfans,

Buff State scrimmaged Fisher in the pre season so we do know a little about them.  They do have a new QB, but they are throwing less than normal this season.  They have Dan Lopez at RB (transfer from Brockport) who is a good player.  They have WR's with good speed as well.  Lacking on the line if you ask me.  They did beat up on Morrisville in week one but they are a new program in D3.  I give the advantage to Ithaca in every aspect of the game.

I like to hear that Buff State is intending on keeping it on the ground.  Sure seems like IC's rush defense is ahead of its pass defense at this point (no offense Mr. N.).

Some thoughts on the Bombers Victory...

1st and foremost the defense looked about 17x better than last year.  Chalk it up to the 3-4, guys being healthy, Ernesto, the 12th Man, whatever you want.  Huntingdon got Blumenauered!  Everyone up front did a great job of controlling the line.  -4 rushing yards pretty much says it all.

The offense looked solid.  I was a bit nervous after our first two drives... and it didn't help that old #3 was sitting right behind me in the stands.  I kept waiting for him to run down to the sidelines, grab a jersey and lead us to victory like we were down 18 to Hartwick in the 2nd half.  After #4 settled in I really liked what I saw.  He doesn't have nearly the touch that old #3 had... but it's pretty neat to see a bombers QB outside of the pocket throwing strikes.  I was hoping to see him take off and run to the end zone a few times... but I guess I'll settle for 300 yards and 3 TD's for now.  For the first time in 4 years I was hoping to see the option... and it never happened.  Hopefully we're saving it for Fisher!

The new look kicking game was a bit interesting.  Ferguson was solid on kick-offs aside from his first one.  I know the people on this board have lots of thoughts on Kitty.  Personally, I think he's a solid D3 kicker who takes a little more heat than he should... But...It was interesting that Welch sent him out there for a 38 yard field goal in the 1st half up 17-0, but then didn't send him out in the 3rd quarter for a 37 yarder when the Bombers were only up 17-6.  I wonder if the people here aren't the only ones losing confidence in him.

Tecmo- I also enjoyed the "We Want Fisher" Chant.  That game should be another classic.

Any news on Bomber injuries?  The players that were dealing w/ minor injuries looked good.

Go Bombers

We want Fisher!

Mr. N- There's a personal message waiting for you.

If I remember correctly, Buffalo State's QB had some pretty rotten numbers last week against Morrisville.
