Doing my part, an important chronology of Norwich:
1819 - Founded by Alden Partridge at Norwich, Vermont as "The American Literary, Scientific, and Military Academy.

NU's founding family:

1820 - Band organized, oldest collegiate band in the nation. First instruction in Civil Engineering offered in the United States.

It's not a band if they don't have Kazoos.

1829 - Academy moved back to Norwich, Vermont following Connecticut's refusal to grant a charter.

If only Chuck Mitrano had been so savvy....

1898 - Norwich designated, "The Military College of the State of Vermont" by the Vermont Legislature.

Talk about a state militia that fails to strike fear in the hearts of men...

1910 - First Cavalry horses arrive on campus.

However the horses' asses would not arrive until 80 years later at which time they would be appointed to an Assistant SID position and post in E8Nation.

1974 - First women enter the Corps of Cadets.

Oddly coinciding with the first year of the Football program.  I am not drawing any conclusions, I am just saying is all....


Also left off the list:

2003: Norwich's final season as the doormat of the FFC.

2004: Norwich's first season contending for the title of E8 doormat.

On a totally unrelated note, I just noticed that the punter on the D3Football Home Page appears to be wearing sunglasses.  Topic for discussion: Can punters be cool?

Chairman - FA91 makes a good point.  My freshman year at IC the punter was Tim Carley (I believe that name is correct).  We was also a linebacker.  He was a good LB and looked even bigger when he was back to punt.  One game in particular, I remember him getting a punt off, turning and dropping his shoulder into an opposing player charging for the block.  The kid was dropped flat.  It was great.

I am just going to go ahead and say what everyone else is thinking....WTF?

a.  There aren't millions and millions of females at UC or in the Greater Utica area for that matter.

b.  Even if there were, a fraction of them would be hot.  I have spent a lot of time in Utica and by no means is it Florida or SoCal.

c.  Even if there were millions of hot chicks, I predict that precisely 0 of them would hook up with a punter solely because he was a punter.

But the combination of all the cities that are visited on away trips could possibly add up to a million chicks.

Just going to IDA there is a good chance of a 50 percent population of women in boston/Newton so that would mean 2.2 million chicks that craving sex with a UC punter
