After watching the draft for a few hours on "Saterday" here's another thing I noticed

Keyshawn mentioned on more than one occasion that "This player will lead his Franchise into the next Millennium"  I know we are living longer lives these days... perhaps Key should have gone to class once or twice at USC.

Another thought... As exciting as it is to watch Mel go nuts when teams don't follow his logic, Steve Young get salty every time someone didn't select Brady Quinn, or try and figure out what was on Boomers head... I thought the NFL/ESPN could use some ideas on how to spice up the draft... Here's a few from Orangehat (Maybe Pat can compile these and send them to our friends at ESPN)

1.  Each Person should get to pick a song and then dance w/ the Commish after being selected... You could bring up your whole family like most of the guys do now anyways.  This would clearly be more exciting than watching 10 mins of highlights.

2.  For Those in the "Green Room"  They should show a running tally of how much money they are losing every time someone else gets selected... and then Suzy Kolber should interview them after each pick to "see how it feels"  and what "the game plan is from here".  (Side note:  Drew Rosenhaus should be in there every year with a kid that slides like Brady Quinn)

3.  Interview Michal Irving after every Miami kid gets selected so he can say "The U" and talk about how great Miami is... and Terell Owens.  I'm so glad I won't have to listen to him this year.

Steve young got down right MAD after every defensive player taken. He said something to the point of 'if they are not helping the QB it's a slap in the face' about brett favre when the packers took a DT. I think brett would rather have better field position than another receiver.  Steve also had 75% of his eyebrows waxed off until they looked like 2 polka dots on his forhead.

The dancing idea is great.

The green room should be an all out frat party

Somewhere around the 4-6 pick, I think it was gains adams... but someone at his table (mom, grandma, nanna, aunty clarice, sister jones, my uncles 2nd wife) somebody... had the QUEEN of all mullets.  Did anyone catch that?

MIOH - I was actually shocked a couple times when Keyshawn made some decent points, I guess my expectatios of him were at zero going in, but I thought he did ok.

The Brady Quinn subplot was the best part of the draft for me.  Mainly because the anchors were so upset.  At some point I really thought Suzy was going to make out with him in the green room.

Normally I don't watch too much of the draft but I wasn't feeling well so I watched alot of it.  Gro - I saw the mullet too, second on that list was Russel's Mom's dye job.  Also - who was the little blonde with Brady Quinn?  I wasn't that impressed...

I can see exactly how Quinn could slip so far.  The guy was exposed in the LSU game.  I wouldn't take a gamble on him when there are plenty of backups in the league that are still proven winners......

And Steve Young looked sick didn't he?  Thin hair, eyebrows like one of those monsters from the muppet show, pale......what's wrong with him?

And heres a great draft clip of the New York Jets past blunders.  At about 37 seconds after the fan is interviewed, listen to the guy in the background right as the next pick is being selected.  Classic.

EDIT:  I had that backwards.  Hawk is married to Quinn's sister.  Apparently that girl is Quinn's girlfriend, Lindy Slinger, a soccer player at the Non-U Miami.

The 2nd best part of the draft (the best part was Brady's face after the miami snub) was when ESPN reported that Brady was invited to the commish's "private room".  I was hoping they would send Suzy Kolber there and it would look like Quagmire's house on family guy.

Reading her bio, this appears to be a solid find by Brady.

good call - I had an ex whose birthday was on Easter one year.  About six months later we were out with friends and the topic of guys fogetting birthdays, anniversarys, etc came up.  She did not like my response of her birthday being "on Easter" when I was asked.  I was SOL when she asked me.

TGP was in the stands for the SC-ND game last season here in LA. 

Quinn was clearly overmatched by the speed and talent of the SC defense (which does not bode well for the NFL).  He's a good PR move for the Browns, but he's a career clipboard holder if TGP's ever saw one.

Lindy is listed at 5'5" but she's closer to 6 feet if you count her hair.  What is that 'do? It looks like the Trevi Fountain.  I feel like I oughta pitch a couple pennies at her head and make a wish.

wow fan, reread the post, he did invert the scenerio, Hawk is married to Quinn's Sister, the tied the knot in a judges office or something just before training camp
