Nah, I gave you a point for that one. Creativity, yet still about football.

AB was warding off any backlash from the SJF crowd.

But... if I use reverse psychology to obtain karma, will I eventually lose karma?  Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.... or is it?

Here's a write up from ESPN.com on a SJF recruit.....

GroScouts.com has a similar writeup

Dominic Fotia
OT | 6'7" 295

Evaluation: Fotia has a huge frame with good weight distribution for a right tackle. This is one big mofo. He plays well at defensive tackle but projects well athletically as an offensive tackle. Too slow for defense. Plus, he smells. He attacks defenders with a powerful punch and maintains good posture. He's much bigger than most high schoolers he faces. He fires out well and will take a good initial step and always takes a good angle to his block. He can't wait to get out of that painful 3 point stance. He can engulf defenders with his size and collapse the whole side of the line. Did I mention he was a big mofo? He plays with decent balance and awareness. He also has a left foot and a right foot. He plays with a good base but must not allow his feet to stop after contact. He's satified with a stalemate. He sets up well in pass pro and will do an adequate job of moving laterally. The problem with Fotia is he must become more athletic and must add strength and be able to sink his hips to be more effective at the point of attack. Laying off the krispy kremes wouldn't hurt either. He must work on his ability to sustain blocks and apply pressure to the defender. This problem will correct itself once his nuts drop. He sometimes will stop his feet and overextend allowing the defender to spill over the top. Never learned to block, he's just bigger then the guy across the line.

Overall, Fotia is a player who can develop into an impact guy at the college level. He can add some bulk to his frame and improve his athletic ability and flexibility. He is a player that can improve with continued playing time and could become a top prospect.  Welcome to Division 3!!

Artie Bucco's not dogging the kid... more so poking fun at the writeup process itself. but if it's my karma you want, drink up.

That is outstanding. +k

Long time lurker, just back from Bomberland and the Butts outing.  Kinda funny that the schedule has not been published yet, but they had t-shirts for sale with the schedule for 2007.  Also, looks like coach Raymond will not be back for the 2007 campaign.

Welcome aboard 59 -- +k

SJF just sent out a newsletter to their football alumni regarding the upcoming season.  The newsletter included a list of their top recruits who have "committed" to SJF.  There appear to be a couple of studs headed to SJF next season.  Among them include an All-State LBer from Silver Creek (sect 6), an All WNY QB from East Aurora, a All Greater Rochester QB from Perry, an all conference QB from Saratoga California, Seven OL that are over 6'3 and near 300lbs including a 6'8 290lb kid from Lockport that turned down a Full Scholarship to 1-AA Maine and a 6'3 305lber thats playing in the NY/NJ all star game.  There also appear to be some solid specialists including a transfer RB from Miami of Ohio thats 6' 210lbs.

Looks like their good season has gotten them some great recruits to build on.

A) Reile is excited about the line recruits.

B) Windbag is not excited about the RB transfer & will soon be calling me asking what strings I've pulled.

Dont know if the Windbag bashing is necessary there Tags....

Not sure if BudCrew mentioned this but here's an update on UC's trip north of the border...

Offense Sparks Utica Football Win over Quebec

From Utica College Sports Information Release

UTICA, NY – The Utica College football team produced over 400 yards of total offense as they defeated host Quebec Monarks 29-24 in a Spring exhibition Saturday at Laval University Stadium in Quebec City, Canada.  UC was invited to play in the cultural exchange exhibition game against the Monarks of the Major Football League of Quebec (LFMQ) for the first time in program-history.
The rushing attack was sparked by sophomore Jamaine Hewitt (White Plains/ White Plains), who averaged 13.8 yards per carry; including a 68-yard touchdown scamper that gave UC a 7-3 lead in the second quarter.  Hewitt collected a total of 125 yards on just nine carries.  Senior running back Alex Conlon (St. Anthony's/E. Northport) carried the ball 15 times for 47 yards.
Junior quarterback Greg Pinelli (Bristol/Bristol, PA) completed 17-of-25 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns in route to earning offensive most valuable player honors for the Pioneers.  Pinelli connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Jim Pincher (Christian Brothers Academy/Knox, NY) to give UC a commanding 13-3 lead right before halftime.  Pincher finished the day with three catches for 32 yards.
Pinelli completed a 11-yard touchdown pass to senior Marc Neff (Dolgeville/Little Falls), a 254-pound tight end, to give UC a 19-10 lead early in the third quarter.  Neff snagged a team-high seven passes for 67 yards on the day.
The Pioneers' took a 26-10 lead on the first drive of the fourth quarter when Pinelli found senior wide receiver James Proniewych (Pat-Med/Medford) deep for a 60-yard touchdown catch.  Proniewych caught four passes for 130 yards.  Sophomore wide receiver Cody Elliot (John F. Kennedy/ Sloan) caught five passes for 43 yards.
UC Kicker Casey McNulty (Red Hook Central/Red Hook, NY) connected on two extra points and booted home a 30-yard field goal with 7:00 left in the game to secure the victory.
The Pioneers' defensive efforts were led by senior free safety Marcus Maroney (Lockport/Utica), who recorded nine tackles and returned an interception 37 yards.  Senior co-captain Mike DeBetta (Harpursville/Harpursville) was named defensive MVP after collecting four tackles, three pass break-ups and one sack. Sophomore linebacker Eric Kahl (Spencer-Van Etten/Lockwood) made eight defensive stops for UC while Mike Gisonda (Kellenberg/Searingtown) tallied five tackles.
The Pioneers finished last season with a 3-7 overall record, including wins over Becker College (20-10), Mt. Ida College (21-9) and Empire 8 Conference rival Norwich University (20-7).  The Pioneers offensive numbers against Quebec were a drastic improvement from last year's team that averaged 230 yards of total offense and just over 11 points per game.

QuoteHave a change of heart like University of Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan did last week and returned to Gainesville after agreeing to a five-year, $27.5 million contract with the NBA's Orlando Magic? Why not celebrate it with the Minor League Ft. Myers Miracle?

On June 20th, fans can celebrate on "Billy Donovan Night".

Fans that purchase a ticket, at the box office, for the 7:05 p.m. game against the Tampa Yankees, will see if they experience a seesaw of emotions like Billy Donovan encountered. If anytime during the game, they are not so sure they want to be at Hammond Stadium they can leave and negotiate a release from their ticket purchase.

Patrons that experience a "Billy Donovan" moment will have the option to sit down with a local attorney and strike a deal for an out-clause from their ticket purchase. Part of the negotiating process will involve making a free throw into our on-site basketball hoop.

Fans that make the easy decision to stay will be entered into a drawing for four tickets to a Florida basketball game in Gainesville this upcoming season. We guarantee Billy Donovan will be there!

Fort Myers own Billy Donovan will throw out the first pitch and waffles will be available at the concession stand.

well - D3 Polls (except d3football.com) always have to be taken very lightly...especially ones that come out in June.  But, nonetheless, Lindys came out with theirs.

3 E8 Representatives...none of whom wear Bomber Blue.

Lindy's poll: 1. Mount Union; 2. Mary Hardin-Baylor; 3. Wisconsin-Whitewater; 4. Trinity (Texas); 5. Wesley; 6. Hardin-Simmons; 7. St. John's; 8. Rowan; 9. Central (Iowa); 10. Bethel; 11. Capital; 12. North Central; 13. St. John Fisher; 14. Springfield; 15. Wheaton; 16. Wabash; 17. Wartburg; 18. Washington and Jefferson; 19. Wilkes; 20. California Lutheran; 21. Baldwin-Wallace; 22. Alfred; 23. Hobart; 24. Whitworth; 25. Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

always starts some interesting banter though.
