Speaking of Mike Hart, I for one, am guilty of thinking he would flop @ Michigan. I saw him play in sectionals at the Carrier Dome, and was impressed but not overly.

He's bulked up a TON since then.

Tags -- you definately aren't the only one who thought that.  Michigan was torn up in a lot of press for giving Hart a scholarship.  People thought that the numbers he put up against Class D wouldn't be anything that could give him success in the Big 10.  Man, were they wrong.  Lloyd Carr looked like a genious on that one...Michigan was on of the few really high profile schools that really went after him.

Looks like we may have a Rudy story to cheer for over the next few years.

Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

I stopped reading when they misspelled Muhammad Ali.

I forgot that Bam Bam was coming back for Ithaca next year.  Will be nice to have a real force at fullback again.

At least they didn't say he "signed" with IC.

Absolutely. You and I are on the same side in that debate, so why would I argue?

91: Did you just assume I would have a problem because it was Viper who responded? You don't seem to know me very well, I guess.

Sir Spiedie

Hey wait, there is no reason a 5'5" player could not make a real contribution to a team in other than a "Rudy" role.
Right off the bat Spiedie thinks about punt/kickoff returns. If he is fast enough to do those things, he would be fast enough to play tailback. Travis Henry is what, 5'8" or 5'9"? Emmit Smith 5'10", and the list goes on. The young man appears to be a good athlete. Spiedie wishes him the best of luck.

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Nate Kmic is listed at 5'9" and Garret Wolfe (recently drafted by the Bears) is listed at 5'7".

absolutely - Blake Elliot was listed around 6 feet (I think) but he's maybe 5'10'' and was arguably one of the best ever...  Matt Buddenhagen from Ithaca '99 (WR, KR) couldn't have been more than 5'8'' and he was sick...

It's a situation where the author probably doesn't really understand D-III Football.  Austin Murphy said it well in his book -- something to the effect of ... maybe a tad small or slower, but my boys could play!

I think Tecmo was just kidding.  Who knows what we have with this kid, or even if he will ever play at IC.  A lot of ballplayers go to a d3 school and start telling people how they are going to play even though they have never spoken to a coach.  I will say this, if he does play, it won't be this year.  IC has a stable of backs with Baez, Donovan, and Bam returning, Kulp needing some touches (since he seems to get to the end zone everytime he touches the ball), and Bergerstock coming off an impressive JV campaign.
